Zensational Bunny, with Patrick Husbands aboard, wins the Glorious Song Stakes by 3 3/4 lengths Saturday.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Zensational Bunny went right to the front and never looked back to win her stakes debut Saturday at Woodbine in the $128,000 Glorious Song.

Zensational Bunny set soft fractions with the wind at her back in the seven-furlong event for 2-year-old fillies. She opened up a clear lead exiting the turn and then coasted home on top by 3 3/4 lengths in 1:23.20. The favored Norquay rallied belatedly to edge out Henry’s Island for second in a field reduced to seven with the scratch of Executive Allure.

Patrick Husbands rode Zensational Bunny for trainer Mark Casse and Gary Barber, who purchased her privately after her impressive first-out victory Sept.  27.

“The way the track was today, I tried to ride smart,” Husbands said. “She’s naturally speedy. She was looking all over the place coming out of the chute, but she relaxed good. She got the job done. She did it pretty easily.”

The Bob Baffert-bred Zensational Bunny returned $5.20 as the second choice and earned $75,000.
