Woodbine: Tu Endie Wei set for Victory Ride


ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Tu Endie Wei has checked into Belmont for Saturday’s Victory Ride Stakes, a six-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies which offers Grade 3 status and a purse of $150,000.

Bred in Kentucky by her owner, Brereton C. Jones, Tu Endie Wei was Canada’s champion 2-year-old filly for trainer Reade Baker with her only loss coming in Keeneland’s Grade 1 Alcibiades at 1 1/16 miles.

Tu Endie Wei picked up here she left off by winning the six-furlong Star Shoot in her sophomore bow but has since finished second in the Grade 3 Selene at 1 1/16 miles and last of six over a turf course rated good in the 6 1/2-furlong Alywow.

Julien Leparoux has picked up the mount on Tu Endie Wei, who will be racing on dirt for the first time. She has done the vast majority of her training on the dirt training surfaces here and at Palm Meadows.
