Woodbine: Thursday 11/28 Analysis

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four

Best Bet: Palm Patrol     Spot Play: Riding With P

Race 1

(6) KENDRA HANOVER has found the winner’s circle in each of her last three starts and makes the move to the Woodbine oval. Her convincing wins make her a top candidate in here and I expect her to drop significant time. (2) STURDY AS A HALL doesn’t like to win, but shows enough speed to be a contender in this series. She shows miles in the 1:56 range. (7) IVANA HANOVER made an uncharacteristic break last start, but I’m going to overlook that error. She has terrific gate speed and may offer value.

Race 2

(2) SEBRING BLUE CHIP has been knocking on the door in her last few starts, but has failed to win. She got interfered with last week and I expect her to be better. Like last start, she may offer a price. (8) WESTERN MOTIF has won 5 of 10 starts this season, but hasn’t raced since Oct. 8. That is a concern for me, but she’s certainly a top threat. (4) ROCKTURNAL will need a good trip to be a factor. This isn’t a deep field, so I’m going to give her a look.

Race 3

(2) MAGIC LINDY has found a new gear since moving into the McKinnon barn this season. She enjoys being near the front and draws a good post. Her victory last week was convincing enough to make her my top pick in here. (4) WARK WOMAN might be the only horse that can threaten MAGIC LINDY for top prize. She also enjoys being put in the race early and will offer low value. (7) REAL HOUSEWIFE had to deal with a post 10 last week, so I’m going to overlook that race-line. She shows enough speed to be a top threat to hit the board.

Race 4

(8) PALM PATROL is always a top contender when she’s in this class. She has overcome outsides posts in the past and there’s no reason why she can’t do it again. She will likely be the heavy favorite. (5) AMERICAN GRACE went a tough trip last week so I’m looking for a rebound effort. Like PALM PATROL, she’s always a contender at this level. (9) YS GOLD STAR got parked every step of the mile last week and only got beat by less than three lengths. She draws outside again, but I like her chances if she gets a clean trip.

Race 5

(4) TOOCOOL FORSCHOOL appears to be a top threat if he behaves himself. He has a tendency to make breaks, but Lalonde may have found the key to success. His impressive qualifier was a major reason why he’s my top pick. (1) MAGIC CLASS scored a convincing win last week and should be able to make the jump in class. He’ll likely offer low value. (5) TROTTING R T has been racing very well in his last two starts. He’s also a top threat to win at this level.

Race 6

(5) RIDING WITH P continues to be a major player at this level and he usually offers value. I’m going to give him the top spot as my spot play of the night. He certainly has the capability to upset. (8) GROWLY GUS has been racing very well in his last two starts for new trainer Fenn. He enjoys racing from behind and if the fractions are honest, he has the speed to make up ground and be a top threat. (10) GARETH NOURRIR has proven to be major player in this class. His last victory came at this level from post 10.

Race 7

(4) AMAZING QUEST has been nothing short of spectacular since moving into the Moreau barn. He won at this level last week and will offer minimal value. He’s won 12 dashes this season and that shouldn’t be overlooked. (7) COLE DIDDY drops in class and certainly should benefit from that. He’s won at a higher level six starts ago and should be a top contender in here. (6) SANTAS SPECIAL won in this class last week while offering value. I’m not certain he can do it again, but if Waples gives him the correct trip than he’s a factor.

Race 8

(3) MARLEE B is lightly-raced and has captured two of four starts this season. She raced impressively enough in her last start to make her my top selection. (5) OK FIESTY came from off-the-pace last week to finish a very strong third with a terrific final quarter. She draws a good post and Menary is a top conditioner. (10) MACHNBYRD PRINCESS used a fast :26 4/5 final quarter to finish fourth last start. Both MARLEE B and OK FIESTY finished ahead of her. She may offer value from post 10.

Race 9

(7) OUT AND ABOUT made a miscue last week, but I’m going to overlook that. He enjoys racing from behind and offers terrific speed when turning for home. This is not a deep field and I think he can benefit from that. (3) JOLIE BLUE CHIP posted a solid qualifying effort and got off the gate very well. She draws inside and any type of repeat effort and she’s worth a look. (1) MANNY RIBERA isn’t the most consistent horse, but is my longshot play for third. He has good gate speed and starts from a good post.

Race 10

(5) R U FOR ME made the transition to this oval very successfully last week with a victory. She remains at the same level for top driver Jamieson. (3) JANES LITTLE GIRL moves up in class and is very lightly raced. She has the potential to find the winner’s circle and may offer value. (8) PAINTING THE TOWN moves up in class and deserves a chance against higher competitors. She has been racing very well her last two starts for new trainer Fenn.

Race 11

(6) R SONOFLIFE moves into the Pereira barn and that’s a major reason for my selection. He races very well last week despite getting away too far back. I don’t think he’ll offer the price he did last week for Jamieson. (1) DAPPER DENZIL has been very inconsistent this season and is a bit of a longshot from post one. He shows enough talent and final quarter speed to be worth a shot. (5) REALLY SEXY GUY has been getting away too far back in his last two starts and I hope that changes in here. He has the potential to be top three given the correct trip.
