Woodbine: Stablemates run one-two

Brass in Pocket wins the $178,000 Seaway Stakes at Woodbine.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - The Frank DiGiulio Jr.-owned and Bob Tiller-trained duo of Brass in Pocket and Winter Garden ran one-two in Saturday's $178,000 , a seven-furlong dash for fillies and mares at Woodbine.

Brass in Pocket went directly to the front under Todd Kabel, and favored Winter Garden trailed the seven-horse field on the backstretch, after breaking in the air.

Brass in Pocket ($8.50) opened up a clear lead at the head of the stretch, as Winter Garden was in the midst of a wide rally, and prevailed by 2 1/4 lengths, in a final time of 1:22.26 seconds. Brass in Pocket and Winter Garden raced as separate betting interests.

El Prado Essence rallied for third.
