Run in Aruba rallies from last to win Saturday's Kingarvie Stakes.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Run in Aruba, who has been overshadowed by his stakes-winning stablemate Jenna’s Wabbit, blew away the field in Saturday’s $125,000 Kingarvie Stakes at Woodbine.

Jenna’s Wabbit, the 2-5 favorite in the mile and a sixteenth route, set a moderate pace while being pressed by longshot Stage Best. Run in Aruba trailed the seven-horse field of Ontario-sired 2-year-olds until the far turn, where he commenced an explosive wide rally under Luis Contreras.

Run in Aruba drew away from the others in the final sixteenth, en route to a 3 1/2-length triumph, in 1:45.23. Ultimate Destiny, at 14-1, edged out second choice True Executive for second, while Jenna’s Wabbit faded to fifth.

Run in Aruba ($15.60) banked $75,000 in his first stakes score for owner Donna Blake and trainer Ralph Biamonte.

“He’s my very first horse,” said Blake. “He was a present from my husband. He told me when I was in Aruba that he had gotten him for me. That’s where the name came from.”
