(1) THE FIRST CHAPTER - a $40K Lexington buy - appears to have talent and will likely take some strong action; using. (2) NORTHERN RULER goes for a barn that can turn one around quickly. I'll use him in the Pick 5. (5) DIRECT ROUTE comes off a good try vs. easier. He can take a share in here. Race 2 (1) GOLD RUSH meets much easier here and he should convert at a short price. (4) LISBURN was impressive breaking his maiden and he can close late to fill out this exacta. (5) HES GOT SWAGGER gets a much better post to work with and he should be heard from here. (2) JOHNATHAN QUICK is improving, and he could better this prediction with a decent trip. Race 3 (8) THE POWER OF MANY lost to the same sharp horse twice but goes for a hot barn off the claim now and should be tough in here. (7) PEPE DI JESOLO drops in class and figures to be the main danger. He'll probably attract a claim here. (5) LABATT HANOVER was a decent third behind the choice last time and he has an upset chance with his improving form. (6) JUSTCALLMERONALD can generate a good closing kick here to pick up a piece of this. Race 4 (2) STORMONT CHEF passed them all after starting from the worst post which is a feat you only see a couple of times a year here. Moving inside gives her a good shot to double up. (3) STPATTYSDAY passed 10 rivals in the final 1/4 to win, which is a rarer feat. Her odds will plummet here, but she's in with a good chance. (8) EZEE TIGUAN shaved a lot of time off but couldn't hold off the choice who gets a big post swing in her favor here; smaller share predicted. (1) MAGICAL GLIDER was impressive last week and isn't out of this, but she will likely need to get faster to beat these. Race 5 (2) SPORTS ICON raced evenly chasing a 55 1/5 back 1/2 last time. This looks like an easier spot and she can beat these with a more aggressive steer. (5) OVATION SEELSTER gets better every week with McClure driving and she should be the main threat. (6) PARTAGAS BLUE CHIP is another with improving form that I'll use in the multi-race bets. (7) STONEBRIDGE ENVY raced much better last time and she should make the Super ticket, at a minimum. Race 6 (4) NOTABADGAME finished well in his season debut and you have to think Henry will get him involved earlier this time; top call. (2) MASTER FASTER finished right behind the choice despite breaking early. He rates highly here if he behaves. (7) PICK UP MAN beat both of the top two and had a tougher trip. He's another that can emerge victorious in the evenly-matched field. (1) JIMS GREAT exits the same race as the three above and he should be able to stick around for a slice. Race 7 (1) FLY FLY SELENA was simply too far out of it last time, but she did close well again. She should get a better start here which gives her a good chance to beat these. (6) THE BACK NINE finished just ahead of the choice last time and he figures prominently again. (4) HAB FAITH is racing well but is just 1 for 20 at this point. I'll use her underneath here. (5) TYMAL TINO can close for a small slice against these. Race 8 (9) ALLERAGE STARGAZER tried to leave last time then ended up taking a shuffle. She could get good position near the front this time and score at a price. (6) PRINCESS STEPHANIE had no answer for a sharp rival last time, but she rates highly in here and I'll use her in the late Pick 4. (7) GALARY GIRL took action and got a clean line and a good result last week. She's another that could step up and win this. (10) UVIE HANOVER can pass some of these down the lane and take a share. Race 9 (4) FAMILY SPORTS has developed a lethal late kick and I'll stick with him here in a spot where he may go off 2nd choice to (2) TRUMP THAT, who drops out of a Grand Circuit race, and I'll use both in the Pick 4. (7) WEBMASTER HANOVER has missed some time, but I can see him passing some of these in the final 1/4 to make the board. (3) MY TEEN IDOL has raced well with McClure driving and he could add some value to the exotics here. Race 10 This race looks wide-open to me, so I'll land on (1) KEEP FOCUSED, who closed a big gap late last time and may have this race fall into her lap. (7) CARDIFF has been facing much tougher and she adds Lasix here too, but she may get over bet relative to her chances. (8) PARISIAN BLUE CHIP obviously has talent but also some issues. She's still worth using in this late Pick 4 though. (3) STARTISTIC WONDER was bet heavily last week and she put up some solid splits then tired. She could do here with an easier trip.
