Sudden Passing and Kissin In The Sand captured the pair of C$35,000 Fan Hanover Stakes eliminations for 3-year-old pacing fillies on Saturday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park. In the first elimination Jan (Trevor Henry) led the way to the 26 3/5 opening quarter and the 55 4/5 half, with Sudden Passing (Jody Jamieson) in the pocket.  That pocket would become a three-hole on the far turn, though, as favored Alexis Faith (Doug McNair) rushed from fourth into the lead. Alexis Faith breezed through three-quarters in 1:23 and held the lead for much of the stretch drive, but Jamieson found a seam for Sudden Passing, and she would surge by late, winning by a neck in a 1:51 1/5 mile.  Reign On Me (Brett Miller) brushed from sixth to third in the final quarter, with Just Her Luck (Chris Christoforou) and Big Thong (James MacDonald) also moving on to the final. There was a judges' inquiry looking at whether or not Sudden Passing had violated pylon rules on the far turn, but they determined she only went inside one pylon and was left up. Gregg McNair trains Sudden Passing, a daughter of Mach Three, for owners Lindsey and Connie Rankin.  This was Sudden Passing's third career win, and she has now earned C$112,131.  Sent off at 3-1, she paid $8.20 to win. Ubettergo Go (Mark MacDonald) and Youaremycandygirl (Yannick Gingras) came into the second elimination off wins in New York Sire Stakes competition at Tioga Downs, but they wouldn't factor in the finish as 5-1 Kissin In The Sand (Scott Zeron) got up from second-over to win in 1:51 1/5. Starting from the pole, Ubettergo Go had control at the 27 second opening quarter, but Youaremycandygirl moved to the outside from third and grabbed the lead at the 54 4/5 half.  Youaremycandygirl would go on to reach three-quarters in 1:23 2/5, with third choice Percy Bluechip (Sylvain Filion) first-up and Kissin In The Sand on the cover. In the lane Gingras asked Youaremycandygirl for more, but she had nothing to give, as Kissin In The Sand and the closers rushed by her.  At the wire it would be Kissin In The Sand on top by a length and a quarter, with Im Trigger Happy (David Miller) and Shower Play (Louis-Philippe Roy) in a dead-heat for second.  Kendall Seelster (Randy Waples) was fourth and Ubettergo Go made the final with a fifth-place finish.  Youaremycandygirl wound up sixth and Percy Bluechip was last. "It worked out great.  The flow was a little constant, and the front-end just hasn't been holding up that well tonight, so it really worked out being second-over," remarked Zeron.  "The qualifiers went great; I was able to get nice trips with her, have her finishing strong, and she impressed me both times.  In her first start I just put her on front when maybe she wasn't ready to do something like that that day, but she came back and delivered tonight. "She could do it all; she could go to the front.  She holds speed so it takes her a little bit to get up to that top, top speed, but she holds it well." Kissin In The Sand, a Somebeachsomewhere filly, is trained by Nancy Johansson for owners Marvin Katz and Hatfield Stables.  Kissin In The Sand is now an eight-time winner in her life, and she pushed her bankroll to C$276,745.  She returned $12.20 to win.
