Top Pick Stats: 11/45 (-$35.30 Best Bets: 2/3 ($2.30) Spot Plays: 0/4 (-$8.00) Best Bet: CORA CORA CORA (Race 9) Spot Play: ULTRA MYLES (Race 8) Early Pick 5: 1,8/1,3/3,4/5/4,9   $3.20 Late Pick 5: 2,6/1,3/3/7/3   $0.80 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFE. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: N/A $1,290 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 5 STARTS). (8) KAMA made a first over bid and finished a strong second in his first action of 2025. It was an effort that I think he can only improve on, and the post position will help his price a touch. (1) ELLICE ISLAND was a fast-closing fifth on debut. He should get a lot of attention at the windows tonight and can pick up a major piece. (4) FIREFLIESNTHUNDER faded back to fifth after sitting another pocket trip. I think a different trip could be in the cards this evening, which can allow him to hit the board. (5) LIFE COACH makes his career debut after an improved qualifier. He can step forward and claim a share. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (3) MALICIA SPEED took a step forward in qualifier two and paced well. We often see horses drop a few seconds in their first career start. She should be no different. (1) A BETS A BET has some extremely strong late speed that could be utilized well in this short field. She is one of two in this field that already has a race under her belt. (4) PLAYSOMETHINGSWEET is another filly likely to improve on debut and was Jamieson’s choice over my top pick. She can hit the board here. (7) VENUS N SERENA showed extreme closing kick in her one and only prep. She can close for a share here. Race 3: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (3) STORYBOOK LOVE was an impressive second place finisher in her qualifier, trotting home extremely strong in the lane. The Bax barn tends to have their stock ready on first asking. I’ll side with this filly tonight on top. (4) CHATTY MATTIE likely has a fair bit of upside, but it is well documented that James MacDonald likes to be conservative on horses early in their careers, and you saw it in the qualifier. She could be anything. (5) MIZ MIRACLE won both of her qualifiers in front-running fashion, and will likely be the one to catch. She can hit the board. (7) TRINITYS DIAMOND is another filly debuting for the Bax barn who trotted well in the stretch to close the gap on Miz Miracle on June 6, but the post likely means a conservative steer. Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: N/A $1,765 P/S IN 2024 OR 2025. (5) SUPERIOR DELIGHT couldn’t quite get to Kiera Seelster in her latest, but continued her streak of excellent form. She can get right back in the winner’s circle tonight. (6) WOODMERE DELTA could be closer to the leaders this week with a shorter field and use her strong final quarter kick to earn a major piece. She makes just her fifth start of the season, so improvement is still possible. (3) ALLSMOKEANDMIRRORS was part of the thrilling three-across finish last week that featured the aforementioned Superior Delight. McClure could work out a similar trip tonight and hit the board. (4) SHES LAWLESS was a strong winner two back, but disappointed in her latest. She can rebound and claim a share. Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME. AE: N/A $1,150 P/S IN 2024 OR 2025. (9) KADIDDLE has bucked the trend of needing to be close to the lead to do well in races. That trend tends to get exacerbated come the summer time, when the temps get warmer and the track gets faster. She has been extremely sharp, winning two of her last three starts, and should be helped by some potential cheap speed. (4) STMIKES KERRYBLUES intrigues me because of who is listed to drive. He has won twice in Prospect Series races when sitting up close, and it’s not like his previous efforts at this level were bad. He could be given an aggressive steer this week and be a main player. (8) SOUTHWIND CASPIAN drops back down to NW2 after a stakes try. His strategy has been no secret as of late, which is going towards the front. He can hold on and hit the board. (6) YOU GUESSED IT put it all together last week and showed the talent that some thought he had. Can he repeat it? We’ll see. He can at least pick up a minor share tonight. Race 6: FM 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFE. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: N/A $1,305 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 5 STARTS). (2) NIGHTINGALE is improving with each and every start, and now takes a huge drop to the NW1 ranks. She will be tough to beat if she brings her ‘A’ game. (6) RESOLVED faded back to fourth in the final quarter but now adds Lasix. She is likely to be forwardly placed again and can be a major factor. (5) THE GREEN BOOK produced what I thought was the best effort of her career last week. She can sit just off the leaders and make a late charge to hit the board. (9) SHESAMANALISHI will need to work out a trip from the outside post, but she has shown enough strength late in her miles to make that a possibility. She can at least pick up a share tonight. Race 7: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. WITH ALLOWANCES. (3) WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE was aggressively handled in her second start at 3 and produced a very strong second-place finish. She appears to be improving, and another step forward can see her get the win. (1) CALL YOU UP has raced fine from off the pace in her last two starts, but gets Louis Roy back in the bike who could be more aggressive. She could be set for a strong finish if she minds her manners. (4) BETTERDOUBLEDOWN likely doesn’t have enough speed to catch the top two, but she can pass some horses late in the mile to hit the board at a price. (7) MCJAZZ has been racing well at this level and picking up checks. She can close and do the same tonight. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFE.. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: N/A $1,290 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 5 STARTS). (3) ULTRA MYLES was out of contention when sitting last at the start, but he rallied extremely well between horses in the late stages. He gets major post improvement tonight and could step forward in a big way. (2) HAPPY ANGEL gets big post relief as well tonight. I personally think he is better when off a helmet, but he lines up as the only early speed type on paper. I’m not ready to give up on him just yet. (8) INDUSTRIALISTS made a strong first over move but couldn’t sustain it. He was already starting to tire when he made a break, charted as an equipment break. This is an easier bunch than what he faced last week, and that same brush move could result in him getting a solid piece. (1) THE GOVERNOR was a strong second in his latest, and is getting closer to a win. He can find cover and close for a share. Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (7) CORA CORA CORA was a strong second in her latest, which was her best effort in a while. She races off the claim for the Malik Smith barn which tends to have them ready to fire on first asking. (2) JAZZVILLE has been sitting pocket trips behind some fast paces in her last two efforts. We could see a more tactical drive from Jamieson tonight. She has the versatility to be best of the rest if the #7 is as advertised. (6) FIRST FILLY CHIP likes to make sustained moves in the back half, and she did it successfully last week. She is likely to try and grind into the race and hit the board. (5) IWISHIHADAME has two wins in a row at Georgian since being claimed. She tries her hand at the Mohawk oval again and can pick up a share. Race 10: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $32,750 LIFETIME. AE: N/A $1,150 P/S IN 2024 OR 2025. (3) LASTING DREAM was a very strong second in her first start at 3. She banked nearly $400K as a freshman and should be extremely tough to beat tonight. (2) UNGAWA has been racing well and trotted by his rivals in the lane for a strong score. He is very likely to be a main player again. (10) P L SAPPHIRE showed his versatility when sustaining a long outside move in his latest, which towed him perfectly into the race and made him able to get the win. The post is tough, but Borth is likely to put him in play and give him a chance to hit the board. (4) ZETTE ATHENA disappointed in her latest, but you have to be forgiving because of the post position she had. She is another likely early speed threat who can easily rebound to get a slice. (6) SOUTHVIEW AVIATOR ships to the big track after a pair of strong efforts at Sarnia. I’m not sure what trip he gets, but he can round out tonight’s Hi-5.
