He draws well this evening and should be in the early mix again. I think the win streak can continue. (7) NASEY gets a drop in class tonight after a speed mission against tougher foes. His versatility makes him a logical threat that cannot be ignored. (2) P L ROBERT G is in the best form of his career, but this will be a major test against classy competition. He can hit the board tonight. (3) EDEN ONTHEHILL is another who is dropping in class. He pulled off an upset two back when sitting close, but he might be shuffled back early with the potential early speed threats. He can close for a share. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($300 USD). (8) FOREVERAFTERALL added a new dimension to her game in her latest when she went wire-to-wire. It was a new career best mile for her, and her third win in her last four starts. She stands out as the clear horse to beat in this field. (1) ETERNAL DELIGHT has outraced her odds in her last two starts. She nearly caught Foreverafterall at a big number on May 19, then finished a solid third last week. When she was angled to the outside in both efforts, she responded well and made up good ground. I think she is improving with every start and can earn a major piece tonight. (2) BARB LAHEY has two giant excuses in her last two races: racing against Chantilly. Though, I find her as a tricky horse to figure out from week to week regardless. Her two efforts against conditioned company in early May were strong, and she can find a way to hit the board here. (7) WHISKEY BLUE CHIP has one plan, and it has been no secret as of late. She should have a good trip if she is aggressively handled again and can hold on for a share. Race 3: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: GRASSROOTS OR PROSPECT STARTERS (MAY BE DIVIDED BY EARNINGS). (7) FOXY AMEE has put together two strong finishes to start her season. The addition of trotting hopples has clearly helped this filly. She picks up the services of James Macdonald tonight, meaning it could be all systems go. She could be in for a big effort tonight. (1) TELLERS CHOICE has found a spot that she likes, and comes into tonight looking for her third win in a row. The rail can be tricky for trotters with early speed, but an early move from Louis Roy could have her in great position to strike again. Using in the multi-leg sequences. (2) OCEANVIEW RUMOURS loses the services of James Macdonald but picks up a more than capable catch driver in Bob McClure, who might compliment her style even better. She tends to make long, sustained moves, which can allow her to hit the board at a likely decent price. (4) NOT PASSABLE had a tough trip in her latest. She made two moves but could only settle for fourth. She draws a better post tonight and can hit the ticket again. Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($300 USD). (4) WINDSUN CHARLOTTE sat a pocket trip all the way around the Georgian Downs oval in her latest and ended up a strong second. What sticks out tonight is that Louis Roy chose this filly over three others. She could be set for another aggressive steer which could see her improve and potentially upset this field. (7) ALL MY WISHES raced extremely well when first over against the aforementioned Foreverafterall. She is another in strong form at the moment and gets James Macdonald back in the bike. She looms as a major threat. (3) ITLL BE ALRIGHT comes off a blowout win at Grand River. She has been close to hitting the board in the past, and could be a horse that knifes through late at a price to spice up exotics. (5) OCEANSIDE MAGIC probably should’ve had a little more in the lane, given the setup in front of her, but it was another long, sustained move that could play better if she isn’t as far back. She can close for a share. Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 4) RACES OR $65,500 LIFETIME. (2) WATERFALL saved all the ground after getting away last, and rallied well to finish sixth in his first start since November of last year. I could be a week or two early, but the price will be worth the shot. (4) RITCHIE RICH most recently cruised against Gold level foes, adding to his excellent résumé so far this season. I don’t think he necessarily needs to win here, but his talent could carry him to another win anyway. (5) RIGHT HERE HANOVER was better in his latest after sitting a pocket trip and tracking the winner all the way around. McClure can get him another good trip which can allow him to hit the board. (1) COUSIN HALIFAX gets major post relief after a speed try from post ten didn’t go his way. He can sit along the inside and rally to pick up a share. Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($300 USD). (6) MANHATTAN MAYHEM showed decent late pace in her first start of the season. She was lightly raced at two, but showed good speed. McClure gives her the nod tonight, and a step forward could see her upset. (5) MACAPELO SEELSTER towers over these on paper and should appreciate the drop in class, but others are improving and she could get picked off. I’ll still use her on exotics, though, as it’s likely she can pick up a major piece. (1) SILVER MAJESTY is another filly that is improving weekly, and now she tries her hand at the big track for the first time this season. She picks up the services of Louis Roy who could have her forwardly placed. Another step forward likely lands her on the ticket. (9) MAI TIDE has been sharp as of late, but this is a tougher group, and she draws outside. She can hit the ticket. Race 7: NW $9,000 LAST 5 OR NW $18,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. (10) CRYSTAL BALLER was sitting on a good effort, and he put one together in his latest. Dahlquist Hanover got a major jump on him, but he was angled out and ended up best of the rest. I think he can get in a good spot despite the outside draw, and could upset at a price. (4) DEVILS ARCH has been trotting consistent miles and feels like the safe pick in this race. He is likely going to be forwardly placed again and can pick up a major piece. (5) R PEAKY BLINDERS got Tyler Borth’s nod despite two straight miscues. He could be set for a rebound effort tonight if he minds his manners. (1) MACALLAN gets major post relief and could sit an inside journey. He can pick up a minor check. Race 8: POP UP SERIES: NW $30,000 (F&M $37,500) IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST START. LEG 1. (2) YANK MY HALO could be ready to roll off the strength of his winning qualifier. He had previously been facing much tougher company. I’ll count on him being good to go. (9) BUCK DANCER is usually a safe pick at this level, but his win last week was his best effort in a while. Borth moved him to the front, and when he was called on late, he responded. Tough post, but he should be forwardly placed and in a good spot to produce again. (4) VICTOR INVICTUS is another class dropper that has been racing okay. He usually does his best work from off the pace, and Hudon gave him the nod. He can close and hit the board. (1) TWIN B ARCHIE was aggressively handled after some time off, but others were trotting away from him late. He can pick up another minor share tonight. Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($300 USD). (9) SUGAR PIE HONEY is the clear standout in this group off the strength of her four length win at the Grassroots level. That was almost a month ago now, but she adds Lasix, and I’ll count on her being ready to go once again tonight. (8) FUNNY BUSINESS added Lasix for her latest and it made her late rally stick quite well. Now, she did get a setup, but there’s plenty of cheap speed possibilities that she could pass late at a big price. (7) CATCH MY PASSION came up short as the favorite last week, but it was the closest she had been to a win this year. McClure could change tactics this week. I can see her hitting the board. (1) SARA B DELIGHT is improving and now tries her hand at the Grassroots level. I can see her at least getting a piece if she takes another step forward. Race 10: PREFERRED. (6) OSCEOLA nearly took advantage of the major drift move by Gaines Hanover in the stretch, but had to once again settle for second behind that rival. I think he is in top form right now and could finally pull the upset. (3) GAINES HANOVER did win again last time, but I didn’t love that drifting. He is the king of the Preferred level for now and deserves major respect. (2) SID THE KID produced an upset win from the pocket in the Preferred 2 last week. He’s in and out of the top level, but he can hit the board here. (4) PERFETTO was incredible last week, winning by open lengths. He returns to the top level and can pick up a check. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: POP UP SERIES: NW $30,000 (F&M $37,500) IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST START. LEG 1. (3) PESO HANOVER looks to repeat while racing off the claim for the Gerard Demers barn. He gets the nod from James Macdonald and will be my top call and Spot Play of the evening. (7) WILLOWTIME likely crushes these when at his best, but how much was taken out of him last time? He was parked the mile through a wicked first half. Louis Roy could be more conservative tonight which could get him beat. (8) MISTER MAGIC is a hard trying horse at this level that always deserves to be on your tickets. He can hit the board tonight. (1) RICKY RESOLVE has returned in solid form, producing two easy wins. If he steps forward, he can at least pick up a share. Race 12: CLAIMING HANDICAP $18,000 TO $24,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (5) LETS GET ROCKED didn’t get his kind of trip last week in a race that fell apart up front. Borth could be aggressive once again this week and get him in a good spot to pounce at a price. (4) BETTOR OF THE WEST got the setup he wanted, but came up just short again. Until he wins one this year, the highest he can go on my numbers is second best. (10) STASH IT AWAY races off the claim for the Montini barn. He is the key to the race. What version do we get tonight, especially from post ten? He can hit the board. (7) GOING FAST has produced big final quarters at this level in the past, which can propel him past some horses to hit the ticket. (3) DR JOE is another that does his best work from mid pack. He can close out the Hi-5 ticket.
