Mister Coop ($11.10) parlayed a perfect stalking trip into 1 1/4-length triumph over a troubled Barbeau Ruckus in the $127,000 New Providence Stakes at Woodbine.

Mister Coop and Barbeau Ruckus both stalked a heated front-end battle in the six-furlong dash, as Dillinger, Krz Ruckus, and Imperial Alydeed dueled through fractions of 22.64 and 45.26 seconds.

Mister Coop came four wide into the stretch and hit the front inside the eighth pole before prevailing over Barbeau Ruckus, who had broken slowly and was blocked in midstretch. Favored Forever Grand, who was far back early, wound up seventh in the 10-horse field of Ontario-sired runners. The final time was 1:10.56.

Mister Coop is trained by Danny Vella, owned by R.M.C. Stable, and was ridden by Robert Landry.
