Kitty's Got Class relinquished the early lead, then came on again to win the Fanfreluche.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Kitty’s Got Class gave trainer Mike DePaulo a sweep of the two weekend stakes at Woodbine with a convincing score in the $150,000 Fanfreluche, for Ontario-bred 2-year-old fillies.

Kitty’s Got Class led early before being overtaken by favored Quality Lass, who set splits of 23.02 and 46.06 seconds in the six-furlong dash. Kitty’s Got Class assumed a stalking position on the turn under Emma Wilson, before going by Quality Lass at the sixteenth pole, en route to 2 1/4-length tally. Bagatelle Park rallied for second, and Nikkis Bold Gelato outran a fading Quality Lass for third. The final time was 1:10.78. Kitty’s Got Class ($6.30) won $90,000 for owners Denny Andrews and Mike Colterjohn. She is unbeaten in three starts, despite failing to switch leads in the stretch in all those races.

“Mike actually said something to me in the paddock about that,” said Wilson. “For her to kick on down the lane, while [running] green, and hold these guys at bay, she’s a pretty nice horse.”

DePaulo also won Saturday’s Bunty Lawless Stakes with Pender Harbour.
