Jenny's So Great, with Jesse Campbell riding, wins the Royal North.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Jenny's So Great was last exiting the turn in Monday's Grade 3 Royal North Stakes at Woodbine, but the seas parted for her in the stretch, and she won the six-furlong turf dash with a furious kick.

Wildcat Marie and True Religion dueled through fast splits over the firm ground. Jenny's So Great bided her time at the back of the pack under Jesse Campbell, who steadied her at the top of the stretch before she mounted her rally right through the middle of the spread-out 11-horse field.
Jenny's So Great prevailed by two lengths over second choice Supreme, in 1:08.76. Sea Road closed for third, Wildcat Marie faded to fourth, and favored Much Rejoicing was a nonthreatening seventh.

Jenny's So Great ($18.90) earned $120,000 of the $181,200 purse for owners Bill and Vicki Poston and trainer Greg De Gannes.

"She's a horse you can be patient with," said Campbell. "I knew they were flying up front. I let the race develop, and halfway through, she came up underneath me so nice. I had to wait a little bit longer than I wanted to, but the last thing I wanted to do was circle the field, because she has a quick turn of foot."
