ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Honorable Guest notched his first stakes victory in workmanlike fashion on Wednesday night at Woodbine in the $125,000 Frost King.

Honorable Guest bided his time at the rear of the seven-horse field under Patrick Husbands, as Marcavelly Man set a fast pace in the seven-furlong sprint for Ontario-sired juveniles. Honorable Guest found room while in the midst of his rally at the quarter pole, and then split horses at the head of the stretch before holding off Jade Dragon to prevail by three-quarters of a length in 1:23.76. Power Phil finished three lengths back in third. Honorable Guest paid $3.60 to win.

“Looking at the Racing Form, I had the best horse in the race,” said Husbands. “He came out of the gate slow. I was hustling all the way down the backstretch, and he was just galloping, galloping. When I reached the half-mile, he just grabbed the bit and wanted to go.”

The Mark Casse-trained Honorable Guest earned $75,000 for G. G. Racing Stable.
