Woodbine Harness: Thursday 5/9 Analysis

Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (21 - 39 / $72.40): HAMDALLA (5th)

Spot Play: FLYUSTOTHEMOON (11th)

Race 1

This is a wide-open event, but (7) LADY BLING posted an encouraging qualifying event with a :27 2/5 final quarter. If she minds her manners, it appears she has enough trot to win this maiden contest. (1) ANY GIVEN MONDAY draws inside and also qualified well. He trotted home well in :28 1/5 and that sets him up nicely in here. (6) OLLY WARRAWEE comes out of the Johnson barn and hasn't missed the board in a pair of starts in his career. He gets post relief as he moves onto this circuit.

Race 2

(5) PARADE ROUTE might be considered a longshot, but this is a very wide-open event. He continues to improve, shows enough speed, draws better and used a good final quarter last week. (6) OOZIES FINALE comes out of the Gillis barn and gets Jamieson back in the bike. He tends to be inconsistent and likely will offer a price. (2) WORLDY DEO will make her 2013 debut for O'Sullivan. She's regally bred and showed enough speed last season to be competitive in here.

Race 3

(5) ZORGWIJK NOVA had a successful rookie campaign and after a good qualifying effort, I feel she's ready to win at first asking. She has gate-speed, draws well and Ritchie is in the bike. (8) MOMS APPLE PIE also will make her 2013 debut. She qualified well with a good final frame and will look to drop even more time. She raced in the Super Final last year and should be very competitive in here. (1) JUKEBOX JACKIE draws inside and has a good record this season. She hasn't missed the board in her last three starts and once again is a factor.

Race 4

(5) BEST IMPRESSIONS was the heavy favorite last week as she delivered in fine form. She moves up to this class and I feel she can only improve in just her second start of the season. (2) RACHEL WELCH hasn't missed the board in her four starts this season and has been knocking on the door at this level. She draws inside and once again may offer a decent price. (3) RIVER RISING moves into the Zeron barn as she makes her 2013 debut. She won 9 of 12 last year and that cannot be overlooked.

Race 5

(2) HAMDALLA has a terrific record this season, draws well and will look for his fifth straight win. The connections think highly of this horse and I think he's the horse to beat in this race. (7) BLOODSTOCKSHALLTAB also has a terrific record this season and is a top threat in this final. He gets Jamieson in the bike, shows enough speed and will attract a lot of attention. (6) DEVRIES HANOVER has missed the board just once this season and is a good option for the triactor. He shows gate-speed and draws well.

Race 6

(6) STIRLING BELLA qualified very well at The Meadowlands with a :27 1/5 final quarter. She ships north onto this circuit, draws well and should be very competitive in this maiden class. (2) PROFOUND BEAUTY draws inside, comes out of the Gillis barn and has posted a pair of good qualifying efforts. Gillis has a good reputation with first-time starters. (3) ADDYS SECRET also qualified well and Austin has had a very good season so far in 2013. She will make her 2013 debut and may offer a price.

Race 7

(2) CORPORATE SHARRRK might be considered a longshot because he hasn't won yet this season, but he drops in class and has proven to be very competitive at this level. I'm price-shopping in this wide-open race. (5) GRINFROM C TO C has been racing well at this level and is fairly consistent. He won in this class two starts ago and once again is likely to offer value. (3) MR THOMPSON faces easier competition this week, draws inside and is very capable of hitting the board. He likely will offer a high price and this race has the potential for a terrific payout.

Race 8

(2) B YOYO comes out of the Tie Silk Series and this race doesn't appear to be as deep in talent. He draws inside, has excellent gate-speed and with the right trip, I think he is very competitive in this field. He should offer a price and trotted home in :27 4/5 last week. (7) MONEY MAVEN doesn't like to win, but is a good option for the exactor. He certainly has enough trot and is a factor with a likely off-the-pace trip. (1) KRIM BOUGHALEM draws inside and will make his first start of the season. He had a good campaign last year.

Race 9

(2) CANARY ISLAND enjoyed a credible rookie campaign and qualified well. She has a good post and Zeron's barn has been better within the past few weeks. (5) IN THE WHEELHOUSE was hard-used last week and found the winner's circle two starts ago in this class. She's certainly a factor with the right trip. (9) LITTLE BROWN MUG has been racing competitively at this level, but will have to overcome post nine. She has enough speed and talent, but will need the right trip from an outside post.

Race 10

(2) DELICATE TOUCH made a miscue last week, but quickly reset before finding the winner's circle at this level. She draws the same post, comes from the McIntosh barn and she likely won't offer the same price as last week. (3) MARLEE B only missed the board once from five starts last season. She will make her 2013 debut after a good qualifier and certainly has enough speed to be very competitive at this level. (8) MACH AWAY has a first and second place finish in her last two starts. She draws outside, but shows gate-speed to be well positioned early.

Race 11

(5) FLYUSTOTHEMOON went a tough trip last week. She drops to the class which she won at two starts ago and draws in the middle of the gate; won three of her last five starts. (1) ST LADS MORGAN draws inside and drops in class. She gets Lasix for the first time and shows gate-speed to be well positioned early. (4) SYDNEY SEELSTER has won three straight and moves onto this circuit. She moves up in class, but has gate-speed and draws well.
