Woodbine Harness: Thursday 12/19 Analysis

Email

Best Bet: TURBO DONATO (3rd)

Spot Play: WINDSUN GALLIANO (1st)

Race 1

(4) WINDSUN GALLIANO comes out of the Menary barn and has a good winning record this year. He may offer a price, but will need to mind his manners. (3) ILL BE THERE debuted in the hands of new trainer Gillis last week. He’s always a threat at this level, draws inside and gets Jamieson again. (7) PERFECT VACATION comes out of the Moreau barn and is fresh off a win. He enjoys racing off a helmet and certainly has the speed for this class.

Race 2

(6) SOLID QUEEN was timed in 1:51 4/5 at The Meadowlands in her latest. That type of effort makes her a top threat for this series. (3) ENVIOUS HANOVER was the heavy favorite last week and faded in deep stretch. I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt as she makes her second start for trainer Menary. (7) WONDERFUL CHARM has hit the board in each of her last four starts. She has a good record this season and a short field only helps her chances.

Race 3

(5) TURBO DONATO will be the heavy favorite and deserves to be. He has won three straight, including most recently in this class. (9) ITS PAYDAY FRIDAY is versatile and has hit the board in two of his last three. He continues to drop time and will offer a low price. (4) MIYAGI HANOVER draws well and comes out of a top trotting barn. He has a good record this season and is a good candidate to use for the triactor.

Race 4

(9) TYMONTIMEAGAIN has been knocking on the door and is overdue for a win. He has the speed along with a good closing quarter. (1) SO BAD IM GOOD draws inside and has hit the board in two of three career starts. He continues to drop time and that will likely continue in here. (2) MEGADRIVE made a miscue off the start last week and recovered well to finish fourth. Based on that effort, she can likely improve and hit the board.

Race 5

(7) GUNGA WIN made a break last week and recovered to finish fifth. He drops in class to a level where he won two starts ago and will be a top candidate. (9) WHIPLASH has been racing very consistently in his last four starts with three wins and a third-place effort. He’s versatile and comes out of a hot barn right now. (4) NORTHERN VICTORY draws inside and has hit the board in two of his last three starts.  He’s a likely candidate in here as well.

Race 6

(9) MURRAYFIELD has missed the board once in four starts and has gate speed to overcome post nine. He just missed last week in this class, but I’m going to try him again. (7) TWIN B INSPIRING also has a good young record and finished second at this level last start. He continues to improve and will be one of the favorites. (4) LUTETIA SEMALU comes out of the Moreau barn and may offer a fair price. She races at her best when she’s put into the race.

Race 7

(6) CASIMIR LAWMAN has been knocking on the door in his last two starts and is due for a win. He certainly has the speed and has been much better since the time off. (3) SHOCK N ROCK draws inside and has terrific gate speed. He won at this level three starts ago and will get attention in here. (4) UMBRAGE HANOVER tends to be inconsistent, but comes from a good barn and is versatile. He’ll likely offer a fair price.

Race 8

(7) MAKE SOME MEMORIES is overdue for her first career win. She hasn’t missed the board yet in her three starts this season and comes out of the McIntosh barn. (9) P L HULA also has been knocking on the door as of late. She doesn’t have the best gate speed, but has excellent closing speed and will need the right trip. (8) VICTHECHICK has some time off and raced well in his return last week. I’d expect to see an aggressive steer once again.

Race 9

(6) LOKI DE VIE has the speed and moves into the Henriksen barn. That’s the main reason for my selection. (7) BOP TOO THE TOP likely will offer a price and has the speed and versatility. She’ll provide a price in this wide-open tilt. (4) DANE draws well and has a good record this season. He trotted a strong mile two starts ago and will look to repeat that effort.

Race 10

(3) PUTMEINTOGY shied away from the gate last week, which caused her to get away seventh. She was the heavy favorite and I’m going to try her again. (8) LYONSSWEETIE comes out of the Johnson barn and has hit the board in three of her last four starts. (1) JEREMEYES JEWEL gets the rail and got a terrific steer last week from MacDonell. She’s been racing well in recent weeks and is a good option to use for the triactor.

Race 11

(5) MACHO CHICK moves back into a claimer, which she won at three starts ago. She has the speed and draws well. (4) LUCKY TARYN finished third in the debut of Montini last week. She draws inside again and will likely be a top threat. (2) LIVIE raced very well last week to finish second, considering she was 41-1. She’ll look for the same type of trip.

Race 12

(5) ALLAMERICAN EXTRA has won four straight and draws well in here. He’ll likely be put on the front and is the horse to beat. (4) RAVE ON won last week and remains at the same level. He enjoys leaving the gate as well and will likely be put into play early. (8) DOING SOME DAMAGE has hit the board in each of his last four starts and gets Jamieson in the bike. He’s a top candidate for the triactor.
