Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (5 - 12 / $18.40): CAMAES FELLOW (1st)

Spot Play: WORLD AWAY (9th)

Race 1

(3) CAMAES FELLOW went a long journey last start and finished a strong second. He won at this level three starts ago and with a better trip, he's a major player. (2) MY MAN CHARLEY drops down in class, draws inside and has excellent gate-speed. He's a big threat in this event and likely won't offer a price. (6) POUVOIR DUHARAS hasn't been worse than third in his last five starts. He drops down in class and enjoys racing from behind. That only helps his chances in a short field.

Race 2

(6) IMA MAGICIAN TOO remains at the same level that he won at last start. He draws a decent post and I can't see him getting away too far back. He enjoys racing from behind and continues to improve with each start. (4) ILL BE THERE raced very well last week for new trainer Montini. He does move up in class, but shows enough speed that he belongs at this level. (1) WINDSONG INGENIUS hasn't been performing at his best lately, so I'm looking for a better effort. He draws inside when he's on his game, he's a major contender.

Race 3

(4) SPARKY MARK is the obvious choice based on his recent performances. He's back at top form and will likely march to the front and try and dictate the pace. (1) CASIMIR JITTERBUG got the pocket-trip behind SPARKY MARK last start and had to settle for second. I can see the same trip happening again from the rail. (3) TOP GEAR has been a terrific claim and now reaches the top class on this circuit in only five starts. I'm not convinced that he can win at this level, but he's certainly turned some heads in his recent victories.

Race 4

(5) NOWUCIT NOWUDONT has won five of his last six starts and has been very impressive in each victory. He does move up in class, but he's capable of making the transition. Don't expect value on him. (4) COOL GUY has been racing terrific in his last number of starts. He finished off 2012 very strongly and has continued to progress into 2013. He's a 'must have' on all exactor and triactor wagers. (9) DUKE OF DONEGAL can overcome post nine with his terrific gate-speed. If he's not used hard in the early going, I like his chances to finish top three.

Race 5

(1) SING FOR ME GEORGE has been racing very consistently at this level and is due for a win. In his last two starts, he's shown fast closing quarters and draws inside. (2) GOBAN appears not to have much fight in him in deep stretch. Many times he appeared to be the winner, but then tires late in the mile. (5) LIFEIMITTATESART came first-over last week and that's not his best trip. He draws well and if he gets a helmet to follow, he'll be a contender turning for home.

Race 6

(5) STRUCTURE FIRE won at this level two starts ago before making a break last week. He's proven to be very competitive in this class, but likely won't offer much of a price. (6) ARMBRO CHRONICLE needs the perfect trip to be a factor in this race, in my opinion. He's the veteran of the field with a ton of back-class, but I'm not sure if he can do all the work on the front to win. (1) MR JOE SIXPACK has finished third in this class his last two starts. He draws the rail and can race on-the-front or come from behind.

Race 7

(4) GRIN FOR MONEY had to deal with post 10 last week and that's never easy to do. The start before he was a convincing winner and I hope he's driven the same way. (5) C MAJOR HANOVER is fresh off a win and this is only a slight jump in class. He draws the same post as last week and may be driven the same way. (3) ROCINANTE has gotten better since the claim and finished strong last week considering he went a long journey.

Race 8

(3) VIMY RIDGE has had some time off, is starting to get his legs under him and now it will mark his third start back. He finished second last week in this class and I think he's ready to drop more time and find the winner's circle. (4) CELEBRITY COWBOY finished third in this class last week and went a very tough trip the week prior. He'll need a trip and likely will provide value. (5) PROTEGE SEELSTER hasn't been at his best recently, but he gets much needed class relief. This isn't a deep field and I'm looking for a much-improved performance.

Race 9

(6) WORLD AWAY was used very hard last start as he brushed to the lead, got covered up then made the first-over journey. That's not his style of racing and with a different type of steer, I like his chances in this short field. In a short field, it definitely benefits (3) COOL ROCK with his patented off-the-pace tactics. He does move up in class, but has been in top form recently. (4) ANDERLECHT got interfered with last week as an accident took place, so I'm certainly going to overlook that raceline. He drops in class and he's certainly capable of being competitive in this class.

Race 10

(8) REIBERCROMBIE drops down to the bottom level and he's a much better horse than he's shown lately. He comes out of the Coleman barn and I'm looking for him to turn his game around, starting in here. (4) FIRE ON THE WATER only posted one win last year and also drops to the bottom class. This level is always hard to predict, but he draws well and shows enough speed. (3) WINDFALL BLUE CHIP put in a solid effort two starts ago, but disappointed me last week. If he shows the speed he did two starts ago, he's got a great shot.
