Woodbine Harness: Saturday 1/11 Analysis

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: WEST SIDE STORY (1st)

Spot Play: MACHAL JACKSON (7th)

Race 1

(8) WEST SIDE STORY comes out of Henriksen's barn and has won three straight and four of his last five. (7) MAGIC WILL WORK has been knocking on the door and comes out of Auciello's barn. He has the speed along with versatility. (5) FIVE TOWNS won last start and comes from a top conditioner. He'll likely offer a fair price as WEST SIDE STORY will be the heavy favourite.

Race 2

(3) APPRENTICE HANOVER has been a different horse in recent starts and has really found his game. He's looking for his fifth straight win. (6) MODERN LEGEND is back on a better rotation and raced well last start. This is a short field and he'll likely race from behind. (1) CASIMIR JITTERBUG gets the rail and has been racing well since his layoff. He closes very well and should benefit from an inside trip.

Race 3

(4) SAMIRA HANOVER will likely be the favourite and deserves to be. She has been racing terrific in his last number of starts and comes from a good trotting barn. (6) RAVEN VICTORY found the wire first last start and gets the return services of Jamieson. (9) RANDOM MAJORITY will have to overcome the outside, but has excellent gate-speed. She's a good option for the triactor.

Race 4

(4) ANDERLECHT drops in class and won two starts ago. He enjoys being put in the race and should receive that from a post four start. (3) WINNING DREAM moves back onto this circuit following a second-place finish at Flamboro. He's been a top threat in this class in the past. (5) GRIN FOR MONEY was unable to close last week, but has been racing very well prior to that start. He shouldn't get away too far back with a post five start.

Race 5

(2) BURNIN MONEY was hard-used last week to earn the front and tired in deep stretch. He won his two prior starts and will likely once again be the favourite. (8) CHARLIE IS A JOKER has been making breaks, but if he minds his manners than he's very effective in this class. He comes out of Moreau's barn and will offer a low price. (5) DELCREST JULIAN hasn't missed the board in two starts for new trainer Walker. He'll likely race from behind and has been closing very well.

Race 6

(10) ALSACE HANOVER put in a sizzling winning effort last week and despite moving up in class and a post 10 start, I feel he's very capable. (9) IDEAL RACE comes out of the Preferred and gets Jamieson back in the bike. (5) THORN IN YOUR SIDE hasn't been worse than third in each of his last six starts. He draws well and will likely be forwardly placed.

Race 7

(9) MACHAL JACKSON comes out of the O'Sullivan barn, drops in class and has been racing very well since his layoff. (3) HARD TO MACH also drops in class and certainly has the speed for this level. He'll likely race from behind and gets McNair in the bike. (6) WAZZUP WAZZUP won last start in the debut for trainer Johnson. He moves up in class, but is very capable based on last week's effort.

Race 8

(4) J C ONTHEBEACH wasn't himself last start, but put forth a monstrous effort the two starts prior. If he can regain that form, he's a top threat in here. (7) ALEXAS JACKPOT will likely offer a low price and has been racing very consistently. He's versatile, comes from a good barn and gets Jamieson in the bike. (1) SOULFUL LINDY draws the rail, comes out of Moreau's barn and hasn't missed the ticket in six starts.

Race 9

(7) MARGARITA BI drops in class and certainly has the speed for this level. This is a wide-open tilt and he may offer a fair price. (3) CHUCKALO CADEN draws inside and finished second in this class last start. He got a terrific trip and will look for the same tactics from a post three start. (4) AQUANILLA drops in class and closes very well. If she's not too far behind, she's a good option for the triactor.

Race 10

(3) GENESEE has won two straight and remains at the same level. He looks like the horse to beat. (9) NICKLE BAG closed very well in his latest and faces an easier bunch. He's versatile and classified accordingly. (8) CHEYENNE MOISHE has hit the board in three of his last four starts and hit the board in this class last week.

Race 11

(4) MCKINNEY comes out of the Johnson barn, draws well and is due for a win. He enjoys being put in the race and gets Filion back in the bike. (1) JOSHUA MY BOY has hit the board in three of his last five starts. He gets the rail and went a tough trip in his latest. (7) GLAMMIT comes out of the Auciello barn and hasn't been racing at his best. He'll likely offer a price and will look for a turnaround effort.

Race 12

(3) WORLD AWAY draws inside and is certainly due for a win. He has a lot of back class and is at the bottom condition. (5) LENNON BLUE CHIP draws well, drops in class and comes out of Moreau's barn. (8) SHIPPS XPECTANCY finished second in this class last week. He had a good 2013 season and is once again a threat in here.
