Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (13 - 29 / $44.60): BELLE BOYD (6th)

Spot Play: HIGHLAND BOREAS (4th)

Race 1

(7) SCOTT ROCKS provided a large upset in his first career start last week. He dropped over six seconds from his qualifying effort and is a top threat once again. (5) WINDSUN CHEYENNE was the post time favourite last start and finished fourth. He came first-over and with a cleaner trip, I think he'll provide a better result. (1) AINT NO MO has been knocking on the door in his last two starts and draws well. He'll need the correct trip, but is a good option for the triactor.

Race 2

(7) DUKE DID IT is fresh off a pair of wins and draws outside in this short field. He's very versatile and is capable of winning once again. (2) ST LADS DUDE has been racing very consistently in his last number of outings. He draws inside, comes out of the Moreau barn and once again is classified accordingly. (4) EVENING JOB moves into the Agostino barn and moves slightly up in class. He draws in the middle of the gate and enjoys being put into the race.

Race 3

(3) HESGOTLEGS draws well, is fresh off a win and remains at the same level. There isn't a horse in this field that can beat him off-the-gate and I expect him to be your first leader once again. (4) LEXIS D J drops down into a level where he's most competitive. He draws well and a short field only helps his off-the-pace tactics. (7) VACATION DAY raced very well in this class last week. He was only beat a neck for the win and O'Sullivan's barn has been much better lately.

Race 4

(6) HIGHLAND BOREAS went a very tough trip last start and I'm looking for a rebound effort. At this level, he's very competitive and with the right trip, he's very capable. (4) WALKTAKAWALCEK got away too far back last week, but finished his mile very strong to finish fourth. If he's not positioned too far back again, I think he can provide value for the possible exactor. (9) FIRE UP THE MACH has terrific gate-speed and I hope that comes into play from post nine. Tackoor's barn has been very good this season and I'm price shopping.

Race 5

(1) ROSE RUN JERIAH finished fourth at this level last week, but had to overcome post 10. He draws the rail and I feel he's got a terrific shot to win. (5) MARGARITA MAN might be the post time favourite again. He draws the same post as last week and comes out of Moreau's barn. (7) GROOM HANOVER found the wire first for the first time this season last week at Flamboro. He moves back to this circuit and is a contender at this bottom level.

Race 6

(3) BELLE BOYD is the class of this field, in my opinion. She's a perfect two-for-two this season and the connections think quite highly of her. (8) MARQUISE DE SARAH is an obvious choice if you're playing the exactor. She finished second last week to BELLE BOYD and has a solid record this season. (1) WILDCAT HANNA captured the other division last week and provided a great return. She's also got a great record and draws inside.

Race 7

(9) GAVINS DESIGNER has been claimed in four of his last five starts and jumps up in class. He continues to race very well with four wins from six starts. (7) RIDING WITH P got a terrific trip last start to finish second. At this level, he's very competitive but at times can be inconsistent.  I'm hoping for a price once again. (6) GUTSY GREG found the wire first last week for trainer Moreau and moves up in class. He scored a comfortable victory and should be a factor in this class.

Race 8

(8) ROCKIN WIZARD is undefeated in two career starts and remains at the same level as last week. He draws outside once again, but is the obvious top choice. He's got terrific breeding and so far in his career, he's very versatile and comes from a top barn. (7) BEACH MACH hasn't missed the board in his last four starts and raced very well last week to finish second. He used a :27 1/5 final frame and that sets him up well in here. (2) TALBOTCREEK ARMANI draws inside and raced well last week to hit the board. I'm hoping that the same trip occurs and gets the same price.

Race 9

(7) WATKINS has won two of his last three starts at this level and hasn't been the favourite. This is a short field and McNair has been giving him terrific steers. (2) BURNIN MONEY set a new career best last week and that sets him up well in this top class. He certainly has enough speed and Drury can dictate the trip from a post two start. (6) FRENCHFRYSNVINEGAR wasn't at her best last week, but you can never count her out at this level. She likely will be put into the race early and this week she may not be the favourite.

Race 10

(7) BERKSHIRE BEAR provided a major upset last week for Moiseyev. He dropped six seconds off his qualifying effort and any type of repeat effort and he's the likely winner. (4) FOLK ART made a break last week after doing all the work on the front. He has enough speed and talent to be a part of the exactor. (9) ANTRIM HANOVER debuts for Moreau and that's the major reason for my selection. He qualified well and I feel he's capable in this maiden level.

Race 11

(3) ELITE drops in class where he found the wire first just two starts ago. He draws inside and has terrific gate-speed. (7) HIGHLAND HELLION also drops in class and this level is much better suited for him. He's been racing competitive at a higher level two and three starts ago. (9) P L COMMANDER enjoys racing from off-the-pace and has a terrific closing kick. If he's not positioned too far back, I like his chances at a good price.
