Woodbine Harness: Modern Legend ends Itrustyou’s winning streak in first leg of Cam Fella Series

Itrustyou’s winning streak came to an abrupt halt Saturday night at Woodbine when Modern Legend, with driver Jack Moiseyev in the sulky, powered away from all rivals in the first leg of the Cam Fella Series.

For Istrustyou, making his first trip north of the border, the journey around the track proved a bit too tiresome. With an envoy of leavers at the outset, Istrustyou and driver Brett Miller were faced with a long and wide trip into the first turn. While Moiseyev and Modern Legend reached the front past the opening quarter, Itrustyou struggled with his gait, repeatedly hinting at a break in stride. Eventually prior to the half, Itrustyou lost his action completely. From that point, he was never in the hunt, finishing last in the field of nine. Modern Legend scored impressively by open lengths in 1:51 2/5.

Owned, trained, and bred by David Drew, Modern Legend extended his own winning streak to six races.

Moiseyev was able to sweep both Cam Fella divisions, scoring earlier with Guns And Roses in a 1:51 3/5 mile.

The series continues next Saturday at Woodbine.
