Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from May 1 - May 5

Email

Thursday, May 1

CLASS ME NICE (NW1) Was parked througout in last, challenged uncovered for three-quarters before tiring.

SEAWIND PASCALE (NW2) Was an impressive three-move winner in last and should be in the hunt in next couple.

REGALLY READY (NW2FM) Brushed and crushed and was more than impressive in the process.

HOPE FOR BADLANDS (NW1) Made a bold move to grab command proved to be much the best in last.

Friday, May 2

WILDCAT MAGIC (PRINCESS) Closed stoutly from the middle of nowhere and has to be respected in the next round.

JOSEPH GERAR (CLMHCP20/30000) Was an easy front stepping winner in last and earns long look in next race or two.

LIGHTS GO OUT (NW3FM) Had the cover and crushed once she got serious indicating there are more in store for her backers.

I GOT TO BOOGIE (NW2750FM) Gave the old college try going down the road as far as she could but was nipped on the wire. She will be tough racing same kind or slightly better.

Saturday, May 3

WAASMULA (NW25000FM) Came flying from the back of the pack to come through for the faithful as the even money favorite and is always eligible to devistate a field.

SOMEWHERE IN L A (DIPLOMAT) He came from somewhere on the moon to humble the prohibitive favorite in last week's leg.

KEEPING OPTIMISTIC (CLMHCP12/15000) Put in a very credible effort from post 10 in last. He was used three wide to the led, yielded, pulled the pocket at the third panel, challenged hard, had aim but tired. A better trip gets him home in time.

EVENIN OF PLEASURE (NW12000) Was under death grip in last and won easily on the front end.

COOL ROCK (NW7200) Seemed to be in distress early as he took all the way back. He settled and appeared to have no chance when he started to rev it up passing the third panel. He found a gear most can only dream of and roared home in dynamic finish passing them all en route to upset win.

Monday, May 5

FLIGHT OF THE KIWI (NW3) Got shuffled out in last rallied strongly once a route opened up.

WARP FACTOR THREE (NW2) Was moving with good pace in the final turn racing third over but broke before heading home and seemed like he was going to finish in style.

SAVE MY STAR (NW1) Left, took the lead, yielded, sat pocket as the leader battled, tipped the pocket, went wide as it seemed the battle was taking its toll on the pacesetter but may have misjudged the moment and might have had better luck if he stayed patient in the pocket.

KENNAIRN BUCKWHEAT (CLM8000) Made a winning move past the quarter but it was too soon. He blew to the lead, opened up a big lead but hit the way early stretch. Better timing equals better results for bettors.
