Woodbine Harness: Horses To Watch for January 3 - January 7

Email

Thursday, January 3

SEBRING BLUE CHIP (NW1FM) PUlled the pocket the last quarter, tested the winner but was proven second best both on the board and on the track.

ANDYS DREAMBOAT (CLM10000FM) Put in a good effort at 11-1. Rushed to the top, set the pace under pressure for a long ways and stayed tough while tiring.

SAMILLION DOLLARS (CLMHCP10/12000) Rallied best from an impossible spot and was second to a well rated winner.

SUPRIZEMEAGAIN (CLM10000) sat pocket, pulled heading home, rallied gamely to take a lead in the late stages at 20-1 but was nailed on the wire by the heavy favorite.

Friday, January 4

DOCS HOSS (CLMHCP12/15000) Charged home from nowhere to nail a win in last and the move has to be respected when talking about possible repeat win.

SHOW TOPPER (CLMHCP12/15000) Rallied gamely at 48-1 with late aim only to be nailed by the fleet footed closing winner.

SILVER DRAGON (CLMHCP12/15000) Left well in last, rushed up, challenged, had to take back and tuck, sat pocket to the lane, got stuck in tight quarters.

P J LUCKY (CLMHCP12/15000) Left from the rail, put an early challenger in the pocket, met another challenge the middle half to the lane and game way late. Beaten favorite is but one of at least four in what might very well be a `key race' where multiple horses race back and win next time.

Saturday, January 5

HILARIOUS HALO (NW5700) Followed wide passing the third panel, set down heading home with full head of steam but had too far to come.

ARMBRO CHRONICLE (NW8000) Favorite got lost along the way and was hopelessly buried to the stretch, tipped out, responded to urging and gobbled up foes but there were just too many to catch.

DUKE OF DONEGAL (NW3) Well bet favorite was a wrapped up best going down the road from the eight-hole in most recent and should be able to get it done again.

WEB CAM (NW57000) Showed early speed, yielded, got shuffled out when the winner brushed, rallied gamest through the lane to get up for second.

Monday, January 7

WORTHY ADVANTAGE (CLM12000) Left weakly, got parked as the pace setter looped him to the lead, challenged to the final turn before packing it in and should improve off that.

SWEET TALKIN SATIN (NW2) Was second over and in perfect spot by early stretch, broke, lost a ton of ground but rallied back strongly for second. Beaten favorite should atone.

MODERN XHIBIT (NW15000) Was locked in the pocket through the lane and freed much too late to launch a bid.

DUKESTER (NW5800) Rallied from the back of the pack closing around gapping cover but the top two were game to the wire so third was the best he got in last.
