PASSION R VIRGINIE (CLMHCP10/15000FM) Closed stroutly but a few steps too late from a distant third over and earns a look in next.
THUNOR (NW2) Followed wide early, raced in the three path second over a long way but stepped it up late to get up for 2nd.
INCOGNITO (CLM12000) Left, found an early seat but was shuffled out along the way, rallied in the lane and finished with good speed.
AMERICAN GRACE (CLM10/15000FM) Was the victim of a bad shuffle, had the rail in the lane, found a route, closed with good speed only to run out room when it got interesting and was forced to take up and disappear again.
Friday, January 25
AUBSESSION (NW3FM) Chased the odds-on favorite the entire mile second best at every call.
WARRAWEE LIMELIGHT (NW5000FM) Left, tucked, sat buried in the three hole to the stretch, rallied gamely along the tight rail to nail the victory and can take another with a bettter trip.
AMIGO DE GRANDE (CLMHCP15/25000) Closed well from the dark side of the moon in last to get third. Too far back to even get a call, he powered home over a speed favoring track.
REALLY SEXY GUY (CLMHCP15/20000) Was forced to go wide much too early to escape tiring cover and was stuck deep too long. Loomed through the lane and tired but he showed enough to earn respect in next.
Saturday, January 26
STONEBRIDGE ON ICE (NW17500) Got locked in the pocket with pace but nowhere to go.
MUTINYONTHEBOUNTY (NW3) Wove through traffic mid lane, ducked in, finished well at 60-1 to nail second in most recent.
FRANCESCHETTI (NW4) Followed wide from far back, closed in wicked :26.2 but it was too far to come.
ANDERLECHT (NW17500) brushed to the lead coming to the three-quarters, battled pressure through the stretch, dug in gamely but could not. Blame the track moreso than the horse and give him a try in next.
Monday, January 28
P L CAMMANDER (CLM10000) Chased the winner home with good stretch speed in last at 39-1.
POP COP (NW2) Closed strongly between horses from an impossible spot over a speed favoring track in most recent.
WATKINS (PRF) Sat pocket and was all out pressing the favoted winner to the end and should be able to get a win in next race or two.
MAJOR MOVES (NW1) Powered home in quick order to win last going away and looms as short priced repeat winner.
Best Bets
SLIGO JOE finished third, fourth, or fifth against classier company in each of his last four races. He ran fast enough in his last two starts to beat this type on the plunge from $10,000 optional claiming into this $5,000 N1Y field. LATCH LIGHTING only finished fifth as the favorite at this class level last time. He should be a factor today, but he seems more likely to contend in the minor exotic slots than he is to beat this field. STEALTH HERO ran a dull race when he beat just one opponent here on a muddy track in his last race.
