WALTAKAWALCEK (CLMHCP10/15000) Broke before the start in last, settled near the rear and launched a good rally the last quarter finishing best of all.
TROTTING R T (NW2) Flashed good speed from the outside to take the lead, yielded and was shuffled back, cleared mid lane with willing finish.
CANT STOP ROCKIN (CLMHCP10/15000FM) Closed very well from the back of the pack in last and nearly surprised the two battling favorites.
SF TERRIFIC KISSER (CLM10000) Beaten favorite hit best stride too late to seriously menace but had the excuse of poor cover and might atone in next outing.
Friday, January 18
BAROCKEY (CLMHCP20/30000FM) Won under death grips and should be able to take another.
MACH A WISH (NW27000FM) Saved ground but was buried for her efforts until the lane, snaked up the rail with good finish.
TALBOTCREEK JEWELY (NW175000FM) Finished with a good turn of speed from far back to get up for second over a speed favoring track.
LADY LATTE (NW13500FM) Was gamest in three way battle for second and can win versus this kind.
Saturday, January 19
TOP GEAR (NW265000) Got stuck in the pocket until the last steps climbing, twisting, raging and hoping. Found room last steps and stormed home. Should be along in time again.
WHIPPET GOOD (NW5800) Was a game, late closing second to a game, down the road winner in last and this beaten favorite looks good enough to score in next.
WORLD AWAY (NW14000) Veteran was parked for his life in last pressing the pace while sucking in all that windy, cold Canadian air before expiring at the third panel.
DUKESTER (NW5000) Was strung out so far the hounds couldn't find him in last effort but closing well enough to indicate a win or two is coming soon.
Monday, January 21
E W FISHER (PRF) Got stuck in last traffic with a good chance to get more if he cleared.
ASLAN (NW2) Closed gamely from uncovered to get up for second nearly catching the winner.
AMAZING QUEST (CLMHCP10/12000) Won esily in last on the front end and should be able to take another.
P L FIGHGTER (NW15000) Followed wide into the stretch and closed gamely and quickest of all to get up for third.
Best Bets
GHOSTLY APPEAL has been on the sidelines for more than nine months. She'll be hard to deny on the drop from $12,500 N2L to $5,000 N2L if she's ready to roll in her return. WINTER ROCKET made up ground late, but still finished in the rear-half of the pack when she was overmatched against Louisiana-bred $12,500 N2L's in her return from a freshening. She'll be a factor in the exotics on the class drop to open $5,000 N2L. SHE'S BONAFIDE didn't show as much early speed as usual, then rallied to challenge for the lead.
