MEGO MOSS (NW2) Left well, took the lead, rated the middle and was all wrapped up to the wire. Should be able to win another.
DONT STARE (NW1FM) Shot to the lead, yielded and was shuffled, tipped to the wire, got rolling late but finished fast once in gear.
PETITE COURAGEUSE (CLM10000FM) Rushed to the top, yielded, sat pocket to the winner, cleared in the last steps and made up ground but had lost her best shot.
SF TERRIFIC KISSER (CLM10000) Came wide around tired and dull cover, finished fast but too late.
Friday, January 11
JET WASH (NW8100FM) Finished with good strong pace and got up for 2nd from bad spot.
STRATEGY (NW2) Made two moves to the lead, yielded to the winner, sat pocket and held off the horde for second to the favorite.
ARTIST LIST (CLMHCP12/15000) Rallied late from back of the pack to just miss second in most recent outing.
JET SPEED (NW13000FM) Went down the road as far as she could getting nailed on the wire. Can score on front end most nights.
Saturday, January 12
HILARIOUS HALO (NW8000) Closed best from too far back in last and should earn some respect next out
SUNDAY POKER (NW4) Left well to the top, yielded for the pocket and was climbing up the back of the leader to the lane, flattened when it counted but might be able to get a better trip in next.
MIDNITE ROMP (NW5000) Did just that in last. Brushed to command coming to the half, drew off and was easily best in quick time.
THE MAGICIAN TOO (NW3) Went around traffic passing the half, cleared, chased uncovered to the lane and went by quite confidently to be best with another score in sight.
Monday, January 14
PAPPYS PAL (NW1) Made a huge brush to the top and won easily in last. Repeating should be no problem.
GUILTYWITHANEXCUSE (NW13000) Crushed foes with amazing stretchc run in most recent and should continue hot streak.
ADREAMCOMESTRUE AS (NW2) Finished full of trot from an impossible spot over a speed favoring track and can surprise in next race or two.
ALWAYS AN OPTIMIST (CLMHCP20/30000) Chased the favorite through the lane in last to be second best and should be along in time in near future.
Best Bets
MONCLOVA galloped out strongly after closing belatedly in her second trip postward May 26, from which the runner-up exited to graduate with a 68 Beyer. The daughter of Queen's Plate winner Niigon is bred to run long, and can break through with the stretchout from six and a half furlongs to a mile and a sixteenth. BE MIND PHIL is returning on short rest off a closing second in her debut, going a mile around one turn on the grass. She has a blend of speed and stamina in her pedigree.
