Woodbine Harness: Horses To Watch for February 16 - February 20

Thursday, February 16

HERE COMES NUMBERS (DONMILLS) Got parked forever in last, pressed hard to the lane, took a lead, gutted it out to the last steps in dead game effort.

MY FELLA (CLM10000) Set the pace under stern pressure from the favorite, held together stubbornly and just failed on the wire. Should be able to find his own field soon.

ALL THE WEAPONS (CLM10000) Trailed to the final turn, got bothered a bit by a breaker, settled and closed a ton but had too far to come.

MRS ATTIN (NW1FM) Left, tucked early, pulled to the half, challenged hard to the lane, held well but was nailed on the wire as the winner squeezed out of the pocket in the last steps. Showed the stubborness necessary to earn a photo-op.

Friday, February 17

KING PETE (CLM15000) Trailed to the lane a distant 3rd over, wheeled wide and closed a ton. Obviously has the move, needs to kick it up earlier.

KEEP IT FAIR (NW5000FM) Fifth over and nine lenghths was too much to overcome but she missed only two noses for the whole ball of wax.

HOLIDAY SHOPPER (NW5000FM) Left, tucked past the quarter, sat the rail, seemed to impove heading home but a wall quickly developed and she lost any chance to rally.

OVERCARD (NW5000) Finished with a full head of steam from the back of the pack. Fifth over is not where you want to be heading home even with Woodbine's long stretch.

WHITEWATER RAPIDS (NW3) Seemed to have some late trot but had to take up and alter course mid lane. Do not overlook in next race or two.

Saturday, February 18

FREE ROLLIN (NW8000) Made a bold brush to the lead going to the third panel, responded when roused early stretch, put them away and was on his own to the wire. Stepping up and repeating is in the cards as he keeps `rollin.'

WORLD AWAY (NW14000) Was in the pocket in two-horse breakaway and proved gamest on the wire. He is always a threat and will make his presence felt on a steady basis.

BAY OF SHARKS (WEGZ) Won going away off an uncovered trip and was so much the best you cannot doubt he has more wins in store.

CLASSIC ROCK NROLL (OPEN) Deserved a better fate in last. He launched a good late rally up the inside but ran out of room with aim on than a fifth place finish.

Monday, February 20

BKS FELON (NW2) Sat early pocket, got shuffled to the third panel, tipped and gobbled up ground quickly to catch and roar by the favorite. Can face better and get it done.

FRENCHFRYSNVINEGAR (PREF) Was 3-holed heading home, had to wiggled around traffic, set down, took a few raps before hitting best stride but was closing best of all. Beaten favorite can atone.

BLISSFUL YEARS (NW1) Charged home from an impossible spot and can score if in gear a bit earlier in the race.

PISTON BROKE (NW2) Sat to the rear, rallied from a poor 3rd over trip and closed a ton. More life to the outer flow can fix this "Piston."
