Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from December 5 - December 7

Thursday, December 5

WHIPLASH (CLM15000) Beaten favorite was nowhere to be found until the stretch, found his legs and closed stoutly but had too far to come.

CASSIMIR LAWMAN (NW1) Sat to the rear to the third panel as the winner got away, stepped it up, closed a huge gap and just missed.

WINDSUN GALLIANO (CLM12000) Was his own worst enemy in last. He spooked into an early break, got back to business, started to rally in the final turn, broke again, settled, set down and closed strongest of all. Need only stay flat throughout to beat most this level.

SHES A MANIAC (CLM8000FM) Who can blame her for being a maniac after her last parked the mile from post 10 effort. She challenged a determined pacesetter all the way and held well despite tiring.

BETTINO (NW2) Got locked in the box in last. Seemed to have enough to argue the point in the lane but could not find a route as the leader kept the rail closed and the challenger held determinedly.

Friday, December 6

LIVE TO DREAM (NW5100FM) Got parked the mile uncovered, challenged hard to the half and faded from there. Better racing luck could be enough.

DAPPER DENZIL (CLMHCP8/12000) Rallied well from 4th over but had too much ground to make up and had to weave through a crowded outer tier.

PRECIOUS CAMHILL (NW5100FM) Finished full of pace from a tough spot.

AMBLE OVER HANOVER (CLMHCP8/12000) Left but was denied the top by a stubborn pacesetter. Battled hard to the final turn before packing it in.

Saturday, December 7

WHEELS (NW5000) Was used hard from the 10-hole to gain the lead, then set the pace under stern pressure, put away the challenger, dug in dead game as the late closers stampeded home.

TOP GEAR (NW8000) Sat in serious traffic through the lane and seeed to have enough to launch a competitive bid and has to be considered in next.

SANTO DOMINGO (NW5000) Left well, tucked, pulled to follow cover, lost it, continued gamely to gain the lead heading home but tired and could not hold off the favorites comeback bid. Looms as a strong player in next race or two.

THATS THE LIFE (NW5000) Left wide to turn one, struggled hard to get the top past the quarter, set the pace under harsh pressure and held determinedly to deep stretch.

FRANKIES DRAGON (NW14000) Left and had to work hard to find the lead, yielded pas the half to sit pocket, pulled to the third call, challenged, held gamely but the favorite had an easier trip and `Frankie' was second best--tonight.
