Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from April 17 - April 21

Thursday, April 17

BETTER ART (CLM15000) Went down the road on a night that saw all but one pacesetter give it up on the wire and dug in gamely. Beaten favorite will atone soon.

RAMZAN (NW2) Took the top, yielded, retook and proved to be the lone front end speed to earn a victory in last week's action and a variant buster has to be noted.

CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR (CLM20000) Was full of himself as he paced along loose on the front end at 12-1 but could not stall the favorite's late surge. A more favorable track and a bit of rating makes this one loom large.

HOPIESDRAGNINTHEDO (NW2) Got shuffled and buried and was seemingly out of it heading home in last but the GPS found him a route and was he was expertly maneuvered between, around, over and through horses to earn a victory with a :26.2 stretch rally.

Friday, April 18

PLAY AT WYNN (NW4000FM) Finished like a runaway freight train passing seven foes the last quarter to be second best.

GOTTA SECRET (NW3500) Not any more. He was the easiest of winners in last after a three-move effort and should be along in time in next race or two or three.

PEPPERMINT PATTI (NW2FM) Put in a good 3rd over closing effort in last at 12-1 and cannot be ignored.

WONDERFUL CHARM (NW3FM) Raced uncovered and chased the pacesetter through the lane with no give up in her stride.

Saturday, April 19

WORLD AWAY (NW12000) Has proven game over the years and wins a fair share of races. Last was typically game and he bears watching again.

GENESEE (CLMHCP15/25000) Put in a good try last time out and this beaten favorite is alway eligible to get it done next time.

HLDONTGHTTOYURDRMS (DON MILLS) Was hard used beaten favorite in last and cannot be ignored in next.

REGAL HOPE (NW3) Was used to the lead and shuffled completely out of it as every horse seemed to take a shot at the lead. Give him a long look in next race or two.

Monday, April 21

SUNNY BEACH DAY (NW2) Pulled to the half, rushed up, brushed to command and brought it home impressively.

COLLEGE MAJOR (NW2500) Left, took the top, yielded, sat pocket, pulled with cover the final turn and won going away.

DUKE DID IT (CLM8000) Closed from the moon in last and is alway eligible to get the job done.

ROCKIN WITH DEWEY (LTDREAMFINAL) left, took the top, yielded and was shuffled back, improved to the pocket by headstretch but cleared too late to give her best shot.

ROGER MACH EM (NW2) Was absolutely flying home to catch the tiring winner in last and can take another.
