Woodbine Harness: Horses To Watch for Apr. 19 - Apr. 23

Thursday, April 19

BALBRIGGAN FOX (CLMHCP12/15000) Was buried on the rail willing but in tight quarters which got even tighter when the uncovered horse broke heading home. Closed willingly but too late.

DEDALOS (CLMHCP10/12000) Got shuffled out going to the third panel, closed well between horses once into gear and should be able to threaten in next.

WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN (CLM10000) Got all the worst of it in last but still managed a game rally to score on the wire. Left, tucked, pulled, grinded up uncovered, rallied all out as the leader faltered and got it done.

VEGAS STRIP THREE (NW1FM) Surprised at 36-1 in last but did so impressively in front stepping win. Can step up and take another.

Friday, April 20

BKS FELON (NW2) Made a huge brush to the lead and held well in last. Should be able to get another.

BEE FULLOF STEINAM (NW15000FM) Went down the road from the 10-hole in last and held well on own. The speed was faltering and her efforts have to be noted for a possible repeat.

CAPRICCIO HANOVER (CLMHCP20/30000) Got stuck in traffic, squeezed through with willing finish but it was too late for best shot. Stays sharp and remains a threat.

MACH DISMISSAL (NW8000FM) Had the rail, left well, yielded, retook, scooted away and hid in strong front stepping effort.

Saturday, April 21

POUVOIR DUHARAS (NW3) Had speed in traffic, managed to weave through and closed well but will improve with any kind of racing luck.

IDEAL CHOICE (OPEN) Rushed out, took the lead, yielded, retook, yielded again, sat pocket, could not clear until the last steps and just missed a nose or two. Should get it done real soon.

SHIFTIN GEARTOGEAR (NW8000) Went down the road from an outside post. Put up a quick mile and dug in gamely but was necked out by the favorite in the last strides with the rest of the field way back.

ST LADS HE MAN (CLMHCP20/30000) Came uncovered, challenged the favorite through the lane but was second best in game effort nearly five back to the third place finisher. This one should find his own field soon.

Monday, April 23

GABLE BLUE CHIP (NW2) Beaten favorite had a horrible trip. He was parked early behind dead cover, had to come a long way wide into the stretch, rallied to mid lane before tiring and deserved a better fate.

YAGONNAKISSMEORNOT (PRINCESS) Beaten favorite in first round action made a third panel bid, flattened in the rain but chased the winner home with good pace and will atone in next leg.

WINDSUNG COINTREAU (NW1) Came wide into the lane and powered home in the rain. Made up a ton of ground and can hardly be ignored in next.

LEXIS NOAH (OPENHCP) Left well from the outside, yielded, got shuffled a bit, pulled and rallied up, tucked the pocket, tired in the lane giving way in the rain. Look for him facing weaker to give it a solid effort.

PISTON BROKE (DIPLOMAT) Was looped to the top, gained control and never had a tense moment in quickest Diplomat division. Should have no trouble continuing winning ways through series.
