Woodbine Harness: Friday 4/5 Analysis

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (0-0 / $0.00): OCEANVIEW BINDI (7th)

Spot Play: EYEMAJET (2nd)

Race 1

(3) DOLCI DUCCI gelding comes off two poor outings in a row but does get a good post and should offer a nice price for the top trainer.  (1) ALLTHEWAY ABRA hasn't raced in three weeks but has shown nice closing ability in the past and should be in a great position turning for home.  (4) MINTOES is 0 for his last 48 but did trot a good mile last out and could pick up the peaces late in a soft field.  (8) MAX MONEY first time trainer change to Allard who has been hot in this scenario but will offer low value; use caution.

Race 2

(5) EYEMAJET four-year-old mare makes her first start of the year and comes off a good qualifier.  (9) CAMS MACHARENA filly also makes her first start of the season off a really nice qualifier and could be ready for a big effort off the bench.  (10) CHARDONAY SEELSTER has now won two straight but could be at the mercy of the pace if she doesn't fire for position.

Race 3

(3) QUATER BAYAMA showed a big move in last against a game winner before tiring late.  (1) MONARCH SEELSTER mare draws the best post for a trainer that has been hot lately; threat.  (9) CADILLAC CRUISER gelding made a break last out but has been racing much better than he shows and could be a huge threat with a fast pace up front.

Race 4

(10) BEE FULLOF STEINAM mare looks to be the class of the field, makes her second start off a long layoff, and should offer a big price in a suspect field.  (9) DELICIOUSLYNAUGHTY takes a big drop in class and faces much easier.  (8) RUB N TUG mare had a much improved effort last out but would need to leave for position for her best chance.

Race 5

(6) JOSEPH GERARD raced gamely last out against a game winner off a month layoff and looks to be improving.  (1) MAD FOR PLAID if you could tell me the well bred gelding would stay trotting I would love him in this spot as he has flashed the ability in the past.  (9) WINDSUN GALLIANO gelding is the fastest trotter in the race by far but has made breaks in three straight starts; command a price.

Race 6

(4) ROCK OF LUCK gelding dug in last out to hold off all challengers for one of the hottest trainers on the circuit.   (5) ST LADS DUDE gelding closed nicely last out, shows a lot of versatility and could get an early jump on the top choice. (2) A SUDDEN TWIST gelding has put in some very nice efforts in his last few starts and now makes his way to the big circuit.  Nine-year-old should offer a big price and could be in line for a good trip.

Race 7

(4) OCEANVIEW BINDI mare just missed last out after fighting tenaciously the whole mile.  (1) BAROCKEY mare was on fire a short time ago and may have the kinks worked out.  Four-year-old comes off a nice qualifier and could offer a nice price.  (2) PLAY AT WYNN mare has the post advantage on some of the other contenders and should be in line for a decent trip.

Race 8

(1) TARAS JET mare is just now racing herself back into shape and finds a very soft field; big chance.  (2) KEYSTONE JUBILEE mare showed a big move after being way back early on.  Look for the 7-year-old to be involved early in the mile.  (9) WISKYWISKY NANCY O mare put in a good acclimating mile in her first start at the big track and finds a good spot to get a piece.

Race 9

(6) SELFISH PRINCESS mare has come back razor sharp after a long layoff and could have more to offer.  (7) GUNGA WIN gelding made a miscue last out but had been racing gamely prior.  Five-year-old makes his first start for new connections and should offer a much better price than his last few.   (2) MARGARITA MAN well bred gelding was a wrapped up winner last out and also should be a decent price; vulnerable late.

Race 10

(8) TROPICAL BREEZE mare takes a good drop in class after chasing home a much better opponent than what she faces here.  (2) PALM PATROL mare is also dropping in class and should be much more competitive in this condition.  (3) SISSY BAR mare is sharp right now and has been improving in her last few.

Race 11

(8) FIRST IMPRESSION was used hard last out and is now making his first start for connections that are lights out first time off the claim.  (6) SF TERRIFIC KISSER made up a ton of ground last out at a huge price and could use a fast pace upfront to close into.  (7) SILVER DRAGON has been off a month but appears to have some upside in a fairly wide open race.
