Woodbine Harness: Friday 4/26 Analysis

Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (17 - 34 / $56.20): BOOGIE WOOGIE (10th)

Race 1

(2) DELCREST JULIAN raced well last start considering he drew outside. He's a much better horse than he's been showing and this will mark the second week he's in Zeron's barn. (1) CHARLIE IS A JOKER drops to the bottom level and draws inside. He hasn't had the best start to his season and should provide a decent price. He hit the board in 10 of 15 starts last season. (7) PLANET EARTH has hard-used last week and with a cleaner trip, I feel he can show a much better result. Keep in mind, he comes out of Johnson's barn.

Race 2

(3) MONKEY ON MY WHEEL clearly is the horse to beat after beating the boys last week and remaining undefeated this season. She'll likely control the pace once again in this short field. (6) SWINGING BEAUTY came first-over last week and grinded her way to a second place finish. She's back on a seven-day rotation and I expect her to be even better. (4) VOELZ HANOVER debuted for new trainer Johnson last week and she scored the win. She has a lot of back-class to her and can't be left off the ticket after last week's effort.

Race 3

This is a fairly wide-open contest, but (4) STRAWBERRY WINE has won two straight including last week's win at this level. She's hit the board in seven of 11 starts this season and draws well. (6) HERO OF MY DREAMS might provide value as he returns after a short layoff. He posted an encouraging qualifier and if he minds his manners, I feel he's capable. (7) COPAIN DUHARAS isn't a horse that I feel can win, but I would consider him for the triactor. He's very versatile and if they go quick fractions on the front, I feel he can be a threat late.

Race 4

(6) SHIPPS XPECTANCY has been knocking on the door in his last three starts and is due for a win at this level. He can get off the gate very well and might provide value. (9) EVENING JOB moves into the Nixon barn and also has tremendous gate-speed. He's put back in the same level and has a good on-the-board record this season. He won at a higher level just three starts ago. (2) LYONS JOHNNY might be a risky play, but he posted a very strong qualifying mile. He draws inside, has gate-speed and if he minds his manners, I feel he can be top three.

Race 5

(4) WINDSONG INVINCEBL has finished second in this class in her last three starts. She'll attract a lot of attention and deserves to with a terrific record this season. She came first-over last week and with a cleaner trip, I feel she's the horse to beat. (9) DESIGNER GENES made an uncharacteristic break last week and won at this level just two starts ago. She has gate-speed and likely will be a top candidate by many horseplayers. (3) BUDDY HALLY was a surprise last week finishing third as he was full of trot in deep stretch. He gets post relief and is back on a seven-day rotation.

Race 6

This race is very tough to predict, but (1) PALM PATROL draws inside and gets class relief once again. She was racing at a much higher level and will look to get back on track. Her latest outing was sub-par and I'm looking for a better effort. (5) AUTUMN SEELSTER finished third last week for first-time starter Brewer. She draws in the middle of the gate and is capable. If quick speed is presented then (9) ARDOR LOCKE is very capable of picking up the pieces down the stretch. She does draws outside and finished third at this level last week.

Race 7

(4) APOLLO BLUE CHIP has a terrific record this season, draws inside and remains at the same level as last start. He's certainly a top threat and comes from a top barn. (3) GUNGA WIN also has a credible record this season and draws very well. He finished third last week and at this level, he can't be overlooked. (6) LOGANS HERO moves onto this circuit after racing a number of starts at Western Fair. He's got a great on-the-board record this season and I feel he can be very competitive in this class.

Race 8

(7) FRESH HERB came from off-the-pace last week to finish third with a strong final quarter. He captured this event two starts ago and is likely a top candidate to do it again. (5) GRINFROM C TO C got the trip he needed last week to score his second win of the season. I expect the same tactics to be used once again and likely a low price will be provided. (1) SA SUMMERS LUCK has hit the board in two of his last three starts and draws inside. Although he doesn't like to win (1 for 35), he's a good option for the triactor.

Race 9

(8) STAGE IT RIGHT was full of pace in deep stretch and ran out of real-estate and had to settle for second. She has been much better in her last two starts and has a terrific closing kick. (6) SEASCAPE HANOVER moves back down in class and this level suits her much better. She won in this class two starts ago and she is worth considering for the exactor. (4) SHADYS M THREE moves up in class after a win at the bottom level. She will need the right trip, but he does draw well and can get off-the-gate

Race 10

(2) BOOGIE WOOGIE was on a comfortable lead down the stretch before making an uncharacteristic break. He was under no urging from Oliver and if he minds his manners this week, I think he'll be tough to beat. This class suits him very well and he draws inside. (4) SCARY GOOD will made his third start of the season and draws well. He posted a speedy final quarter in his qualifying effort and if he can mind his manners, I feel he's capable and may provide a price. (6) CLASSIC ALANA finished second, by a nose, last week in this class. She comes out of the Allard barn, which shouldn't be overlooked.

Race 11

(9) MEMUMSNOTNICE has won two straight including a victory at this level two starts ago. She does draw outside, but has excellent gate-speed and will likely attract a lot of attention from horseplayers. (1) MACH A WISH drops down in class and draws the rail. She had a very successful season last year and I feel she can be top two and may provide a decent price. (3) ADDYS WAY also drops in class and comes out of the Allard barn. She has only missed the board in two starts this year from 11 efforts and is an obvious choice for the triactor.

Race 12

(3) DREAMFAIR ECLIPSE got away too far back last start and couldn't find the winner's circle in time. With a better post, I can't see that happening again as I think she'll be better placed. She's got a good record this season along with a victory just two starts ago. (2) ST LADS ZENA has only missed the board once from 14 starts this season. She draws well and is fresh off a victory at this level. (4) CHARDONAY SEELSTER is a horse that I'm not convinced can win, but is a good option for the triactor. She's missed the board just once from nine starts this season and has the gate-speed to be well positioned early.
