Woodbine Harness: Friday 4/19 Analysis

Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (14 - 31 / $47.10): HAMDALLA (2nd)

Spot Play: SMASHBOX (7th)

Race 1

(2) BLOODSTOCKSHALLTAB had about a month off and has returned in terrific form with a win and second place effort. He draws inside and was only beat by a head for the win last week, timed in 1:57 3/5. (4) E L ROCKET is very versatile as he can race on the front or from behind. He's coming into this race in great form with a first and second-place finish in his last two starts. (5) DEVRIES HANOVER hasn't found the winner's circle yet this season, but hasn't missed the board in all three appearances. He's a logical choice for the triactor.

Race 2

(8) HAMDALLA is fresh off three straight wins and looks like the horse to beat in this division. His recent winning effort in 1:56 4/5 gives him the fastest record of the field.  (3) DEVLIN SEELSTER hasn't missed the board in four starts this season with a pair of victories. He draws well, continues to improve and likely will be HAMDALLA's main concern. (5) B YOYO tends to be inconsistent, but this series is a great fit for him. He has gate-speed and that will likely come into play for Christoforou.

Race 3

A short field only increases (7) DREAMFAIR ELIPSE chances on finding the winner's circle. She enjoys racing from off-the-pace and with her outside post seven start, she can't get away too far back. (3) FOOLISH MIND has finished second in three of five starts this season. She got a great trip last week and the same trip could occur again from a post three start. (6) WONDERFUL CHARM draws better this week and raced very well last week with a :27 1/5 final frame. She might provide a price and is capable of being top three.

Race 4

(3) DOLCE DUCCI found the winner's circle last week and moves up in class. He draws well, comes out of Moreau's barn and won at this level just four starts ago. (1) FAMOUS MARK has finished first and second in his last two outings. He draws the rail and will debut for new trainer/driver Maclean. (8) MASTER BUILDER is considered a longshot play, but he shows enough speed, but needs the right trip.  He has suffered outside post positions in his last number of starts and this week is no different.

Race 5

(8) LADY LATTE is a much better mare than she's been showing and drops into this bottom level. She's hit the board in five of her last six starts and is a top threat in this class. (5) WINDSUN SOHO has finished second in both of his last two starts in this class. She draws in the middle of the gate and is a likely candidate to be a part of the exactor/triactor. (3) AUTUMN SEELSTER debuts for high percentage trainer Brewer. She moves back onto this circuit, draws well and is fresh off a win.

Race 6

(7) WINDSUN INVINCEBL has finished in the top three in eight of 11 starts this season and finished second in this class last week. She's very versatile and capable of finding the wire first at this level. (4) MY FRIEND JUSTIN put in a sub-par effort last week, but finished second and third in his two starts prior. I think he'll provide a price and shows enough speed to be a threat. (3) KYLIE HALL made a break last week and recovered to finish fourth. She's back in the same class and if she minds her manners, I think she's very playable.

Race 7

(4) SMASHBOX hasn't started the season off great, but this marks her third start back and she drops in class. She also draws better and I'm looking to see more aggressive steer from Jamieson. (2) RUB N TUG found the wire first in this class last week to notch her first win of the campaign. She draws well and has good gate-speed to be into position early. (5) WARRAWEE LIMELIGHT is a good option if you're playing the triactor. She's finished third, five times this season from 14 starts with the majority at this level.

Race 8

(6) SHIPPS XPECTANCY likely won't be the favoruite and has been knocking on the door at this level in his last two starts. He gets Davis Jr. back in the bike, has gate-speed and has been racing consistently. (8) JAC SPADE draws outside once again and has a terrific closing kick. He displayed that last week with a :28 final quarter to go from sixth-to-second. (9) SHADOW BARAN draws outside for the third straight week, but drops in class. He's proven to be very competitive in this class and has the gate-speed to overcome post nine.

Race 9

(8) DESIGNER GENES came from off-the-pace last week to find the wire first. She draws outside again, but remains at the same level. (4) ADREAMCOMESTRUE AS hasn't raced since March 29, but finished second with a speedy time. She doesn't have the best gate-speed, but draws well and with the right trip, is a factor turning for home. (1) IVANA HANOVER has terrific gate-speed, which likely will get used. She likely will leave for position and be well situated by Byron heading down the stretch. I'd expect to see a decent price on her.

Race 10

(4) SWINGING BEAUTY scored the win in her first start of the campaign at Pompano Park and now ships onto this circuit. She went a very good time and can only improve in her second start of the season. (3) BAROCKEY has won two straight races and has been very impressive in each win. She draws inside and has terrific gate-speed. (6) OCEANVIEW BINDI didn't get the best trip last week and managed to finish fourth. She is very capable in here providing the right trip.

Race 11

(2) FIRST IMPRESSION did all the work on the front en route to victory last week. He draws inside and comes out of the Allard barn. (1) PACIFIC WESTERN draws the rail and has the gate-speed to be well situated early in the mile. He's been very consistent this season as he moves up in class. (8) SILVER DRAGON draws outside once again this week and is very capable of hitting the board in this field. He's finished in the top three in each of his last four starts.

Race 12

(4) HOLIDAY SHOPPER is always a top threat in this class. She draws much better than last week and I expect to see a more aggressive drive. (5) GRAND TOUR is a logical candidate to consider in this race, as he's finished first and second in his last two starts at this level. (7) KEYSTONE JUBILEE is considered a longshot, but possesses quick gate-speed. I'd like to see him well positioned early, but I'm not convinced he can go the distance on the front.
