Woodbine Harness: Friday 3/22 Analysis

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (9 - 23 / $31.50): BELLE BOYD (4th)

Spot Play: MONTENEGRO (10th)

Race 1

(6) BURNING BEACHES has only missed the board once this season from six starts and will attract a lot of attention in this series. Although she hasn't found the winner's circle in four starts, she's been racing very competitive and this series should be easier than on-winners of four that she's been racing in. (8) SENORITA SANTANNA now has one start under her belt since her layoff and raced very well with a solid final quarter. She can only improve off that effort and she's very capable. (2) IN THE WHEELHOUSE draws inside and may offer some value. She raced very well in her first start back as she came first-over and settled for third.

Race 2

(3) MONKEY ON MY WHEEL is the logical choice in here. She scored a very comfortable victory last start and she will have to not be on her game for her to get beat. She'll likely dictate the tempo from a good post in a short field. (4) GREYSTONE LADYLIKE has been racing very consistently this season and has proven to be a threat at this top level. She'll likely race from behind, so look for her late in the mile. (5) DIDRICKSON is also a top candidate at this level as she has only missed the board twice this season. She's very versatile and likely won't offer much value.

Race 3

(5) QUARTER BAYAMA is always a top threat in this class. He came from behind last start and finished second with a good time. He comes out of Moreau's barn and is classified accordingly once again. (2) MONARCH SEELSTER won at this level two starts ago and returns to this level on this circuit. He draws inside and has a terrific on-the-board record so far this season. (7) WILD WIND has four wins from nine starts this season and comes out of Allard's barn. He moves up in class and moves onto this circuit and is a good option for the triactor.

Race 4

(2) BELLE BOYD was one of Jamieson's top two-year-olds while training down last season and she captured her first start of the season last week. That sets her up very well for this series. (4) MARQUISE DE SARAH has won two straight races and will be very competitive in this series. She's very versatile and has a very good record so far this season. (3) AIR MILES HANOVER has finished second in all three races this season. She's been knocking on the door and that will likely continue in this series. She's a logical choice if you're playing the triactor.

Race 5

(8) MEMUMSNOTNICE has been racing very well in her last two starts and is very capable in here. She does draw post eight, but she has the gate-speed to overcome it. (5) WARRAWEE LIMELIGHT has been receiving some very good trips in recent starts and hasn't been able to capitalize from them. She's a good choice for the exactor with her consistency as she remains at this same level. (6) D GS TINKERBELL has finished second in both her two starts this season and moves onto this circuit. She moves into the Moreau barn and that will likely deflate her price.

Race 6

(3) TROTTING R T put in a mediocre effort last week, but has been very competitive in his prior starts, all at this level. I'm going to overlook last week and play him on top once again. (4) EXCUSE ME PLEASE raced very well last week considering he came first-over after a pair of breaks in his two recent starts. I think he can only improve and I hope his gate-speed comes into play. (7) SIX BAX caught my eye last week as he finished his mile very strong considering he was back over 10 lengths at the half. If they go quick speed on the front, I like his chances for a piece of the pie.

Race 7

(6) RASHABEC remains at the same level that he's finished first and third at in his last two starts. He now comes out of the Allard barn and will likely be the post time favourite. (7) FRESH HERB hasn't missed the board in his last three starts, all at this level. He can race on the front or from behind and he likely won't offer much of a price. (2) SPIKE HANOVER got a good trip last week to finish second and is capable of hitting the board once again. He does draw inside and I hope his gate-speed comes into play. He may provide a price.

Race 8

(6) ROLANDS SEEHORSE was aggressively driven last week by Moiseyev to earn the front before tiring in deep stretch. If he's used hard to make the front in a quick speed like last start (:57 4/5), I think he can hang on for the win. (9) DOLCE DUCCI was able to make up countless ground last week and picked off ROLANDS SEEHORSE on the wire. He draws outside once again and will have to overcome post nine. (3) WORTHY ADVANTAGE got a solid steer from Drury last week and came up a little short. He's a very good option for the triactor and the same driving tactics will likely get used once again.

Race 9

(7) ADDYS WAY is the logical choice in here, but she hasn't raced since March 1, which does worry me. She hasn't been worse than second in seven starts this season and will likely be the favourite. (8) THE SUMMER WIND wasn't on her game last start after winning two straight races for new trainer Fellows. I'm looking for a rebound effort as she remains at this same level that she's proven to be competitive at. (5) PLAY AT WYNN was parked the route last start and still managed to finished second. She moves into a claimer and comes from a high percentage trainer in Johnson.

Race 10

(2) MONTENEGRO has been racing very consistently in recent weeks and that should continue in here. She draws inside and if she's not used hard in the early going, I think she's capable. (1) PALM PATROL won at this level three starts ago, but tends to be inconsistent. She does draws inside and MacDonald can dictate the trip in this short field. (7) DELICIOUSLYNAUGHTY has been very consistent in her last three outings and is very versatile. She comes out of the Gillis barn and gets Jamieson once again in the bike, which is a plus.

Race 11

(4) KEYSTONE JUBILEE came first-over last week and cleared at the top of the stretch before tiring late in the mile. She provided value last week and that will likely occur once again. This is a fairly wide-open event. (5) BACK YARD BABY likes to race from off-the-pace and has finished third in both her last two starts. She provides good final quarters in this class and I like her chances if they go quick speed on the front. (2) TWIN B ELITE drops down in class and may not provide much of a price. She draws inside and this class suits her much better.
