Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (8 - 21 / $28.80): MONKEY ON MY WHEEL (10th)  Spot Play: DELICIOUSLYNAUGHTY (11th)

Race 1

(3) BRAVEHEARTEDMILLIE is fresh off the claim and moves slightly up in class. I feel she can handle this group as she faces a few of the same rivals as last week in this short field. (5) WINDSUN T BIRD also moves up in class of the claim and Menary’s barn has been getting better in recent weeks. Don’t overlook her record this season. (7) SHES A MANIAC drops in class and that’s the main reason for my selection. She shows enough speed and I think she’s able to be a part of the triactor.

Race 2

(4) SUGAR VALLEY ALLEY is another horse who got claimed last week and did all the work en route to victory. New trainer Johnson is a high-percentage trainer and I feel this horse is capable of winning. (2) CADILLAC CRUISER has finished first and second in his last two starts and draws well this week. The addition of Lasix appeared to help and I like his chances at this same level. (1) PERFECT VACATION is fresh off a win and may provide value. He draws inside, shows enough speed and has some back-class.

Race 3

(2) MILLIONDOLLARTOCH scored a 10-length victory in his most recent start at Rideau Carleton. He’s at a level where I feel he’s very competitive, as he draws inside and likely will get a lot of attention. (6) CAJON HOT SHOT came first-over last week and cleared to the front en route to victory in this same class. He’s got a good record this season and comes from a top barn. (4) AMAZING QUEST also found the winner’s circle last start and moves up in class along with a new trainer. He’s had a great start to 2013 and that should continue in here.

Race 4

(6) ST LADS DUDE went gate-to-wire last week to score his first win of the season.  He scored a comfortable two-length win and I think he’s capable of it again at this bottom level. (2) JAC SPADE has only missed the top three in two starts this season and I think is a very suitable option to be a part of the exactor; draws inside. (1) SUPERBOWL PARTY has received significant class relief over the past five or six starts and draws inside at this bottom class.

Race 5

(5) TROTTING R T is the obvious choice in here after winning two straight, including a win in this class last week. He also comes from Moreau’s barn and has yet to be the favorite. (7) STRATEGY hasn’t been at his best in his last two starts, but he drops in class and has won and finished second in here before. (8) JUSTASMALLTOWNGIRL might be considered a long-shot, but she did finish second in this class last week. She’ll have to overcome post eight, but I feel she can provide a decent price and be top three.

Race 6

(9) VOELZ HANOVER has been racing much better in her last two starts and finished second in this class last week. She’s got the most back-class of the field and is a top threat in here. (8) WARRAWEE LIMELIGHT has finished in the top three in four of her last five starts. She’s a good option to have if you’re playing the exactor or triactor and she usually provides a price. (5) ARDOR LOCKE had post nine last week and was unable to overcome it. She draws much better this week and should be better positioned. Again, she usually provides a price and I expect that to continue.

Race 7

(3) SOOO WINDY has won two of her last three starts and draws very well. She does move up in class, but I don’t feel this is a much tougher group. (7) DREAMFAIR ELIPSE coincidentally has won two of her last three starts and also moves up in class. She provided a terrific final quarter last week to seal the deal and finished her mile with a lot of pace. That sets her up well in here. (4) TARAS JET put together a very good effort in her first start back after a layoff. She can only get better off that effort.

Race 8

(3) GOODBADANDDEUGLY N put forth a sizzling 1:51 4/5 winning effort last start for new trainer Coleman. Any type of repeat effort like that and she should find the winner’s circle once again. (6) MACH A WISH gets significant class relief as she drops out of the Fillies & Mares Preferred. If it weren’t for GOODBADANDDEUGLY N’s last race, she likely would have been my top pick. (5) PALM PATROL also gets significant class relief and should get some attention in here. Although this is a lower condition, this is a very competitive field.

Race 9

(1) ADDYS WAY is the obvious choice in here. She draws inside and has back-to-back wins under her belt. She hasn’t been worse than second in all six starts this season. (5) THE SUMMER WIND debuts for new trainer Fellows and she should be very competitive in here. She draws well and has only missed the board twice this season. (8) JANIE BAY might provide a price and I like the way she’s been racing in her last three starts. She draws outside and enjoys to race from behind, so look for her late in the mile.

Race 10

(6) MONKEY ON MY WHEEL found the winner’s circle in her first start back after some time off. She’s now got that one start under her belt and can only improve off that effort. (5) DIDRICKSON hasn’t been worse than third in her last three starts, all at this level. This is a short field and there’s no reason why she can’t do it again. (8) CONTINUAL VELOCITY will get a lot of attention and she deserves to. She hasn’t been worse than third all season and comes out of the Gillis stable. She’s a major threat.

Race 11

(5) DELICIOUSLYNAUGHTY should be a major contender after receiving class relief. She hasn’t performed at her best lately, but I feel the class drop can only improve her performance. She may provide value, as she hasn’t finished in the top three yet this season. (4) RUB N TUG is a good option to consider if you’re playing the exactor. She’s been racing very competitively in this class and that should continue. (1) BULLET POINT will need the right trip to be effective, but I think it can happen from post one. Davis, Jr. can dictate the best trip for her and she’s capable of hitting the board.
