ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Goldstryke Glory won her first stakes in dramatic fashion Monday at Woodbine in the $105,800 Inglorious, a six-furlong dash for 3-year-old fillies.

Goldstryke Glory ($4.20) set rapid, wind-aided fractions of 21.22 seconds and 42.94 under Jesse Campbell. She established a 5 1/2-length lead at the quarter pole and then coasted home on top by 7 1/2 lengths in 1:09.18.

Laughing Falcon finished 1 1/4 lengths clear of Cabo Queen in second, while Rootham Triple E’s checked in fourth in a field reduced to seven with the scratch of Pretty Cool.

Goldstryke Glory banked $60,000 in her first stakes win for owner Barry Holmes. Kelly Callaghan began training her earlier this summer, after she shipped in from Hastings in Vancouver.

“She’s gotten better since she’s been here,” Campbell said. “Not the way she’s performing, but the way she’s acting. She’s warming up better and she’s controlling her emotions better, and it’s showing on the track.”
