Go Greeley wins the Colin Stakes by 2 1/2 lengths on Saturday at Woodbine.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Go Greeley outran the heavily favored Conquest Two Step to notch his first stakes Saturday at Woodbine in the $140,000 Colin Stakes.

Go Greeley went right to the front under Eurico Rosa Da Silva, and set fast splits of 22.13 and 44.96 in the six-furlong dash for 2-year-olds. Conquest Two Step began to mount a wide bid from third on the turn and then took up the chase in the stretch, but Go Greeley kicked on to score by 2 1/2 lengths, in 1:10.19. Tuscan Getaway faded to third after tracking Go Greeley on the turn, and Enthrone wound up fourth in the seven-horse field.

“I’ve always liked this horse,” Da Silva said. “He’s very professional. He was very focused today. He put himself on the lead, but he was very relaxed. He was running very fast.”

Go Greeley, an Ontario-bred by Horse Greeley, collected $90,000 for J.R. Racing Stable and trainer John Ross. He paid $9.60 for the win.
