Woodbine: Friday 10/26 Analysis

Best Bet: MACH A WISH (2nd)    Spot Play: ROCK ME AMASTREOS (11th)

Race 1

(1) P L DALEY drops down in class and gets post position relief. He should be a top contender in this field and should be able to put his best foot forward. (9) IVE GOT IT ALL is back at the same level where he finished second last week. He's not a consistent horse, but does well at this class. (4) MEADOWVIEW MATTY has been racing fairly consistent in his past five starts and raced well at this class last week. He's got good gate-speed, which I hope comes into effect.

Race 2

(3) MACH A WISH will look to find the winner's circle first in preparation for the OSS Super Finals on Nov. 10. She's been a top three-year-old all year and certainly should be able to handle these Grassroots fillies. (7) JET SPEED was the top Grassroots filly this season and there's no reason why she shouldn't be top two or three. (4) DRIVING MISS DEO has been very consistent at hitting the board her past four starts. That could continue in here.

Race 3

(6) VACATION DAY drops down in class and after his second place finish last week at a higher level makes him my top selection in here. (5) SIR WINSTON has been very good in his last two starts. He usually offers value and I'm looking to capitalize off that. (9) SOULFUL DELIGHT doesn't like to win, but has been hitting the board numerous times over the past five starts.

Race 4

(9) MY MAN CHARLEY went a terrific mile last week to finish third. He's got the gate speed to overcome post nine and he should be a top threat in here. (2) LUCKY TERROR has a pair of seconds coming to this circuit and draws inside. He's won at a higher level at Woodbine in the past. (1) WATERMELONWINE finished third at this level last week from post nine. I think he'll make the most of the inside position.

Race 5

(1) RADAR CONTACT drops down in class and he should be able to handle this field. She raced in the Milton Stakes final and put in a good effort last week. (2) REI TO GO has won two of her last three starts and couldn't be coming into this race any better. She's always is in the mix of things early and has a good post assigned. (4) RED SHADOW continues to improve as the season progresses. She will likely offer decent value in here and I like her off-the-pace tactics in a race like this.

Race 6

(7) CLIC K went a sub-1:50 mile in his last effort and a performance like that should be good enough to win. He's won 11 times this season from 25 starts, that's a high winning percentage. (1) CAMAES FELLOW got a good start under his best last week after a lay off. I think he'll be put into the race tonight and I expect a much better effort. (5) PISTON BROKE is gearing up for the OSS Super Finals on Nov. 10 and this will be a good start for him.

Race 7

(1) PETITE COURAGEUSE was been racing nothing short of spectacular lately and is classified where she can win. She benefits from a good post and I wouldn't expect any less than a top effort from her. (8) PLAY AT WYNN came up short last week at this same class. She won two starts ago and I think she can rebound with a good effort in here. (7) EXQUISITE ALBERTA put in a good effort last week and always seems to do very well at this level.

Race 8

(6) MONTE CRISTO put in a terrific sub-1:50 performance in his latest start and drops down in class. Based on that effort, he's the one to beat. (9) CURATOR certainly can overcome the outside post 9. He always puts worth terrific final quarters and I think he's worth a shot. (8) JUNIOR K hasn't raced since Oct. 6, but has shown credible miles at this level. He's an outside pick.

Race 9

(10) COOL ROCK is my top pick in here, but I do hope the go speedy fractions on the front-end. I'm not sure he can win unless they do from the outside post 10. (3) DA VISION OF ART has a solid percentage of hitting the top three this season and usually offers value. (5) P L EARL is back in a claimer where he is most competitive. If he gets a smooth trip, he's a player.

Race 10

(6) PET ROCK didn't make the Breeders Crown final, but I think he's the horse to beat in here. I wouldn't be surprised if he put worth a sensational winning effort. (8) BIGTIME BALL has banked over $100,000 this season and continues to race at the higher classes on this circuit. He's a 'must have in your triactor/exactor wagers. (7) FRED AND GINGER is a much better horse than he's been showing. I'm not sure what value you will get on him, but I like him in this class.

Race 11

(4) ROCK ME AMASTREOS put worth a solid winning performance last week at Kawartha Downs. He's won at a higher level before on this circuit and his winning ways could continue. (1) LAST CALL HANOVER might be an outside pick to some handicappers, but I'm going to try him in here. I hope his gate-speed gets used. (5) CHINA GRILL certainly has been knocking on the door at Rideau Carleton and I think he'll appreciate the bigger track.

Race 12

(2) ALL TUCKED UP is certainly due for a win. She's a much better mare than she's showing and this might be her time to find the winner's circle. (8) WARRAWEE LIMELIGHT looks like she's being more consistent in her last two starts. This race is wide-open, but she's worth a shot. (6) DANCE UNTIL DAWN has been racing much better later this season. She doesn't like to win, but I'll try her for top three in here.
