ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Woodbine’s Thoroughbred card on Sunday was canceled after the first race due to high winds. The feature on Sunday’s 11-race card, the Grade 2 Autumn Stakes, was rescheduled for Friday and will not be redrawn.

Live racing resumes Wednesday with a nine-race card beginning at 6:45 p.m. Eastern.

Excellent call, Woodbine cares about their horses and jockeys, unlike other racetracks who don't care, whom shall remain nameless at this time.

They should hold breeders Cup here instead of that merry go round, conveyer.belt speed way Santa anita. LOL. that kills me everytime.

Maybe you should try and handicap the races instead of just hoping the races will turn out the way u play them?

Im with him.... Woodbine would easily flip the surface for a season to dirt to get them back or even keep tge poly as horses win from anywhere. Turf races are more fair as its not the horse that corners the best that wins The grandstand is huge. The airport is feet away. There is parking.

I was told that Breeders Cup wanted to go back to woodbine but the reason they couldn't hold Breeders Cup is because the grandstand capacity was reduced.
Bugsy Anderson More than 1 year ago
It was altered..... the actual capacity could reach 50k. The Plate gets just under 30k, and it's not crowded by BC standards

Don't think they would switch back to dirt for it, but the poly runs pretty fair here, and the Turf course is best on the continent. We had a huge party in 96, why not again? :)

The suggestion was for the whiners.... im cool with it being on THIS poly

First thing I was making fun at people who always diss Santa Anita. Second what does my Handicapping have to do with anything

Woodbine is fantastic for racing. They could switch the Marathon to turf for that running if it was at woodbine. would be far better then watch Handicap horses ship in and win first time over dirt and watching the American horses fall over at the 16th pole(Sans Blueskieandrainbows).

excellent call, I was surprised they even attempted to run the first race.
