Woodbine: Blonde Executive in a romp

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Favored Blonde Executive shook loose on the lead and never looked back to capture Saturday's $133,250 Lady Angela Stakes, a seven-furlong dash for Ontario-sired 3-year-old fillies.

Blonde Executive set fractions of 22.42 and 44.91 seconds under jockey Richard Dos Ramos, before opening up a substantial lead at the top of the stretch. She coasted home on top by 6 1/4 lengths in 1:22.97.

My Vintage Port rallied wide to finish second, and Ashlee's Bella closed for third in the eight-horse field.

Blonde Executive, who is trained by Radlie Loney, returned $3.30. A daughter of Bold Executive, Blonde Executive earned $79,950 for her owner-breeder, Bruno Brothers Farm.

* Cut and Shoot ($2.50) overhauled front-running Imperial Alydeed at the eighth pole en route to a 2 3/4-length triumph in Saturday's supporting feature, the Afleet Stakes.

Patrick Husbands rode Cut and Shoot, who ran six furlongs in 1:10.20 in the $106,000 event for Canadian-bred 3-year-olds.
