Wonderlandbynight makes her stakes debut a winning one in the Ontario Debutante.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Arlington shipper Wonderlandbynight closed along the inside to notch her stakes debut Saturday at Woodbine in the $153,000 Ontario Debutante.

Wonderlandbynight trailed the five-horse field of 2-year-old fillies on the turn, as Miss Taggart and favored Mimi’s Missy dueled through moderate fractions in the six and a half-furlong sprint. Wonderlandbynight began to rally in the two-path midway on the turn, and she hit the front nearing the eighth pole before drawing clear for a 1 3/4- length tally, in a time of 1:17.40. Mimi’s Missy held second, and Mistress Gallop checked in third. I Fly High was scratched.

Chicago-based E.T. Baird rode Wonderlandbynight for trainer Larry Rivelli.

“Watching the races here, it looks like most of your riders want to stay off the fence,” said Baird. “It might possibly be dead, but [going inside] was the only option I had, and I figured I could come through there and maybe ease her out - don’t be right on top of them down the lane.”

Wonderlandbynight ($13) earned $90,000 for owner Mark Dedomenico.

* Rahy’s Attorney ($3.70) out-gamed Woodbourne to take Saturday’s supporting feature, the $100,400 With Approval Stakes, by a neck.

Robert Landry rode the Ian Black-trained Rahy’s Attorney, who covered nine furlongs on the grass in 1:46.50.
