Wolf to host new Fox Sports 1 racing broadcast series

Greg Wolf, an analyst with Television Games Network, will be the host for an upcoming nine-broadcast series of live races on Fox Sports 1 co-produced by The Jockey Club, the organizations announced on Thursday, three days prior to the series launching.

Wolf will be joined by Andy Serling, the television analyst for the New York Racing Association, and Simon Bray, another TVG analyst, along with Richard Migliore, the retired jockey, and Alyssa Ali, Arlington Park’s on-air commentator, the organizations said. Serling and Bray will provide handicapping analysis, while Migliore will provide race analysis and Ali will provide reporting, according to the organizations.

The broadcast series, called “The Jockey Club Tour on Fox,” will have its first broadcast on Sunday, featuring the Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park. The series will feature at least two live races for each broadcast, Fox and The Jockey Club have said, although many of the supporting live races have yet to be identified.

The Jockey Club reached a multiyear agreement with Fox on the series just prior to the August 2013, launch of Fox Sports 1, which is one of a handful of all-sports channels to launch in the past five years. A consulting group hired by The Jockey Club several years ago recommended that the racing industry increase its presence on live television outside of the two already established all-racing broadcast channels, TVG and HRTV.
