WinStar Farm has appointed Darren Fox as stallion seasons director for its 22-stallion facility in Versailles, Ky.

Fox previously worked on the stallion nominations team at Darley at Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Ky., for four years. He replaces Gerry Duffy at WinStar, who was recently hired as general manager of Darley’s Kildangan Stud in Ireland.

“I am really looking forward to bringing Darren’s energy, horsemanship, and passion to our team,” WinStar president and CEO Elliott Walden said. “The expectations are high, and I am confident that the baton will be passed from Gerry to Darren in a seamless transition.”

A native of Ireland, Fox has a degree in equine science and a master's in entrepreneurship from the University of Limerick, and he, like Duffy, is a graduate of the Darley Flying Start program.

“WinStar has established its place as one of North America’s leading stallion operations, and it will be a privilege to work with the likes of Speightstown, Tiznow, Bodemeister, and others,” Fox said.
