Winning pick 6 at Churchill Downs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Even with a major head-start and only one winning favorite among the six races, a winning pick 6 ticket returned just $10,894.40 Wednesday at Churchill Downs.

Going into the Wednesday card - the first at Churchill since Kentucky Derby day - the pick 6 carryover was $348,152, the largest at Churchill in nearly seven years. Although there was one winning 18-1 shot during the pick 6 races, none of the other winners returned better than 3-1. Several of the races were decimated by scratches, most notably two races that were transferred from turf to the main track because of weather conditions.

Conducted on races 3 through 8, there were 92 winning tickets sold on the pick 6, which is a $1 minimum wager at Churchill. After Wednesday wagering, the total pool was $1,220,772.

The winning pick 6 numbers were 4-10-8-11-2-11. Consolation tickets with five of six winners returned $88.10.
