Winchill to stand at Pointer Farm in Pennsylvania

Email

Winchill, a stakes-winning son of Tapit, will make his debut at stud in 2015 at Pointer Farm in Bernville, Pa., where he will stand for an advertised fee of $3,000.

The Pennsylvania-bred 6-year-old won 6 of 22 starts for earnings of $288,294, highlighted by a victory in the First Responder Stakes last year at Parx. He also placed in three additional stakes.

Bred by Gum Tree Stables and partners, Winchill won 2 of 4 starts during his juvenile season, including a five-length score in his debut at Ellis Park, for owner Heiligbrodt Racing Stable and trainer Dale Romans. He was sold at age 3 as part of the 2011 Heiligbrodt dispersal, going to Pewter Stable, which campaigned the horse in partnership for the remainder of his career, primarily racing in Pennsylvania.

Winchill is out of multiple Grade 2-placed Phone Trick mare Exclusive Hold, who is the dam of six winners from seven foals to race. He is from the family of Irish classic winner Lailani, Group 2 winner Faithful Son, and several Grade/Group 3 winners.

Special consideration will be given for Pennsylvania-foaling mares breeding to Winchill.
