Will Rogers Downs: Du Da Dandy, Hard Cider win Oklahoma Stallion Stakes divisions


Du Da Dandy and Hard Cider both became stakes winners at Will Rogers Downs on Saturday, when they accounted for separate $50,000 divisions of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes.

Du Da Dandy ($8.40) controlled the tempo from the start in the 3-year-old colts and geldings division run in the slop, and drew off by 8 3/4 lengths over 2-5 favorite Chuck. It was another 20 lengths back in third to Okie Can Do.

Du Da Dandy was clear through fractions of 24.12 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.01 for the half-mile and 1:12.93 for second furlongs before going on to win the one-mile race in 1:39.27. Bryan McNeil rode the winner for Diamond G Ranch and trainer Martin Lozano.

Hard Cider ($8.40) stalked the pace in the 3-year-old fillies division before overtaking leader Mari’s Big Rock for a three and a half length win. It was another three and a quarter lengths back in third to Rah Rah Rachel.

Hard Cider covered the mile in the slop in 1:41.40. Garrett Steinberg was aboard for 7 Cedars Farm and trainer Clinton Stuart.
