Wildwood Royal crushes at Woodlands


Wildwood Royal drew out to a 15-length win in the $25,000 Miss Kansas City Handicap on Sunday, giving her owner Willie Stiritz, her trainer, Jimmy Zook, and her rider, Danush Sukie, a sweep of the weekend stakes at the Woodlands in Kansas City, Kan.

The connections also won the $20,000 Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Handicap on Saturday with Robin Zee ($9.60).

Wildwood Royal ($2.60) was prominent throughout the mile and a sixteenth Miss Kansas City, covering the distance over a fast track in 1:45. With the win, she improved her record to 11 wins in 25 starts for earnings of $373,250.

Switch Lanes finished second, three and a half lengths clear of third-place finisher Market's Best.

Robin Zee won his race by a neck over Magic Doe, while it was another two lengths back in third to Ww Conquistador. The winner covered six furlongs in 1:11.20. Robin Zee has now won 10 of 30 starts and $263,531.
