Whosleavingwho nears $1 million

Whosleavingwho, the 2002 co-world champion, will surpass the $1 million mark in career earnings if he can win the Grade 1, $125,600 Vessels Maturity at Los Alamitos on Saturday night.

Whosleavingwho, who has made 31 career starts, comes into the 400-yard Vessels Maturity with earnings of $951,723. He will earn $52,836 if he wins the Maturity.

The Paul Jones-trained gelding will be a strong favorite after winning the first of two Vessels Maturity trials by a half-length over First Regards, the champion 3-year-old filly in 2002. Whosleavingwho recorded the fastest-qualifying time of 19.520 seconds for the 400 yards after being brushed at the start. It was the strongest trial of the night, with all seven entrants qualifying for the finals.

Last year, Whosleavingwho won the $500,000 Champion of Champions and the $110,350 Go Man Go Handicap.

This year, he has already posted Grade 1 wins in the $206,000 Los Alamitos Winter Championship and the $159,100 California Breeders Championship.

Bobcat Bob won the second Vessels Maturiy trial, defeating champion Your First Moon.
