Who's The Cowboy with E.L. King riding wins the $60,000 Colts Neck Handicap at Monmouth Park on Monday.

Horse-for-the-course Who's the Cowboy won for the seventh time in 15 starts at Monmouth Park when he scored by 1 3/4 lengths over Hey Chub in Monday's $60,000 Colts Neck Handicap.

A 4-year-old gelding ridden by Eddie King Jr. for trainer Kevin Sleeter, Who's the Cowboy ($6.40) collared the pacesetting 8-5 favorite Hey Chub a quarter-mile into the six-furlong race for New Jersey-breds, quickly opened up by 1 1/2 lengths, and remained in command through the stretch. Why Oh Why finished third, 1 1/2 lengths behind Hey Chub.

Who's the Cowboy covered the distance in 1:09.09.

A six-time winner last season, including a pair of stakes against open company at Monmouth, Who's the Cowboy was making his second start following a seven-month layoff. He became the third horse to come out of the John Reilly Handicap on May 27 to win next time out.
