West Point names top fillies to November sale

EmailWest Point Thoroughbreds, the public syndicate enjoying a banner year at the races, has nominated three of its Grade 1-winning fillies - Dream Rush, Irish Smoke, and Lear's Princess - to Fasig-Tipton Kentucky's November mixed auction on Nov. 4 in Lexington, Ky.

John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Sales will be the consigning agent.

West Point founder and president Terry Finley said the sale nomination keeps options open for the fillies' owners.

"All three fillies will run in Breeders' Cup races at Monmouth Park later this month," Finley said. "We will carefully evaluate their performance and the needs and desires of our partners, Lewis Lakin and John Sikura, our investors, and our shareholders . . . . "

Dream Rush, a 3-year-old Wild Rush filly, won the Prioress and Test Stakes this year. Irish Smoke, a 2-year-old by Smoke Glacken, won the Spinaway. Lear's Princess, a 3-year-old daughter of Lear Fan, won the Gazelle. Lakin is a partner in Dream Rush and Irish Smoke, and Sikura is a part-owner of Dream Rush.
