Wednesday card features pick six carryover of $171,914

DEL MAR, Calif. – There is a pick six carryover of $171,914 for Wednesday’s eight-race program at Del Mar.

An 8-1 upset win by Moulin de Mougin in Sunday’s Grade 2 John Mabee Stakes clinched the carryover after eight of nine races were run.
The pool of new money in Wednesday’s pick six could easily exceed $800,000.

The pick six Wednesday covers the third through eighth races. The sequence begins with three straight races on the main track – a $32,000 claimer over 1 1/8 miles with eight runners, a $16,000 claimer over 1 1/16 miles with 10 starters, and a maiden race for 2-year-old fillies over a mile that drew a field of 10.

The sixth race is an allowance race for California-breds over a mile on turf that drew 11 runners but will have a safety limit of nine starters. Inside turf rails will be 30 feet from the permanent position for Wednesday’s program.

The seventh race is the Green Flash Handicap over five furlongs on the main track with seven runners. The final race is a $50,000 claiming race for maidens over six furlongs with a field of 10.
