HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Weast Hill backed up an impressive debut last month with a quick stakes win Sunday, when he captured the $75,000 Rainbow at Oaklawn Park. Weast Hill won by 3 1/4 lengths over Comic Bird, while covering six furlongs in 1:09.85. It was another half-length back in third to We Be Stormin.

The Rainbow was restricted to 3-year-olds bred in Arkansas. It closed out a weekend of stakes dedicated to horses bred in the state.

Weast Hill ($4.80) led throughout in the Rainbow, setting fractions of 21.74 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.89 for the half-mile. He went on to a clear win over a track rated fast. Jesus Castanon was aboard Weast Hill for trainer Brad Cox.

Weast Hill is a son of Rockport Harbor. He races for his breeder, Starsky Weast. Weast Hill came into the Rainbow off a 7 1/2-length win in a maiden special weight Feb. 26 at Oaklawn.
